Enjoyed this 12oz bottle out of a Belgian tulip glass.

A: Pours a clear amber hue with a thick white head that slowly dissipates down the slide of the glass leaving a good trail and ending in a large lace.

S: Not a huge nose here – some malt and mild caramel aroma.

T: Slightly tart and bitter malty flavor. Similar to the aroma no huge flavor comes through.

M: Medium body and medium carbonation.

O: Sort of a bland amber ale. Nothing really stands out or will be rememberable.

ST: 12oz poured into a pint glass.

A: Clear amber, red with lots of carbonation.

S: Malty graininess, light caramel, toasty notes.

T: Smooth, malty, some caramel, cereal grain, graininess, green herbal edge, pepper, and hops.

M: Medium and dry.

O: A little more hoppy than other reds, but an enjoyable mix of flavors. Smooth and easy to drink, Lucky offers nice flavor without overkill.

Flying Dog : Lucky SOB

LOOK: Reddish light amber, white foam and a bit of lacework. Has the look of a firey Irish red.

SMELL: Lightly toasted malts, caramel, buttery bread.

TASTE: Caramelized malts lead the way. Balacing the hearty malt profile is a mild herbal, coarse, leafy bitterness. Über clean, simple, and thoroughly enjoyable.

FEEL: Medium bodied, crisp and clean.

OVERALL: Solid all day Irish ale, compliments to the brewer on this one. Spot on.

S: Very toasty malt, bread crust like. Hint of roast with soft floral notes.

L: Very burnt orange, bordering on red. Crystal clear, 1/16 inch creamy head with ok retention

T: Toasty malt with a prominent earthy hop flavor. Medium earthy bitterness with some grainy sweetness with additional prominent spicy hoppiness. Finishes semi-dry with graininess and a slight hop bite.

M: Medium bodied, medium carbonation.

Really solid example of the style, a little more hoppy than usual. Not sure what the 4 leaf clovers contributed besides being a marketing ploy.

Rustic red color. Head fizzled out. Nice clarity.

Bitter metallic malts. Dry toast, stanky herbal hops, not much else.

Rugged flavors with great toastiness, light dry apple, middle bitterness, and backend sweetness with toffee notes. Refreshing.

Easy to slug. Mildly carbonated, swishy body and feel.

Nice red ale. Even after that boring nose. Recommended.

12oz brown bottle with no freshness date.

Clear reddish amber, sufficient lacing on the glass. Malty, light caramel, toasted bread, grape skin, ripe plums and a hint of alcohol in the nose. Somewhat smooth, malty, biscuity, light caramel, apple skin, peppery hop bitterness, hint of alcohol, toasted grainy finish.

A fun quaff for the most part, was hoping for a bit more on the malty side or pushing the envelope in other ways.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a standard pint glass.
Clear amber in color, with a nice two-inch head of off-white foam.
Aroma-Toasted malt, herbal hop note
Taste-Toasted malt, nice little kiss of hops, tangy spiciness(could this be the 4-leaf clovers that supposedly used in the brewing of this beer?) Who knows? That being said this ia a pleasant, drinkable Irish Red.
