02/06/13 On tap at Rattle n Hum, NYC. Pretty standard lager flavor but definitely more substantial body-wise. I look to lagers for a clean crispness that this lacks. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but kind of like a lager on steroids.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, best before 7/12/2013. Moderate gusher upon opening. Pours lightly hazy deep golden color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, pear, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, pear, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, slight pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Fairly clean on lager flavors with only some light yeast ester notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.7%. Overall this is a nice pale lager style. All around good robustness and balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Drawn to this by the bottle art and the constant hunt for beers to counter balance my friends' love affairs with IPAs

Pours pale yellow with very little head, slight hops in the finish to counter the malt but not enough to blow the back of your head off. Overall a nice beer to have on stock but nothing to write home about.

A little hoppy - below average taste. Fizzed over when opened for no apparent reason.

P- Thanks to keith for this one.

A- dull yellow color that is clear and has a one finger head with nice lacing.

S- malt smell but nothing else

F- malt lager and that's it.

M- refreshing and crisp but not much there

O- ehh..its a nice fail safe beer meaning if its between this and a BMC brand I would choose this.
