Hazy, amber with golden hued body with a single finger head. Aroma is excellent with citrus, sweet caramel malts, earthy hops with a slight smokey note. Very flavorful and smokey. Citrus and earthy hops on a very nice sweet smooth caramel malt background. Medium body ad moderate carbonation. I love when red amber ales are this flavorful and smokey. This is a great beer for the style.

On cask at Flying Dog. I was told that this was a one off experiment by Shane and to call it "Shane's Red". Brewed with Citra hops and Spanish cedar.

Served in my brand new Flying Dog glassware, of course.

The beer appears a bit hazy and yellow to golden hued. The foamy, white head is thick and lasting, coating the glass. The aroma is nice, offering some light citrus, hops, malt and and sweet breads. The flavor takes everything up a notch. Citrus explodes onto the palate with a velvety smooth body. Gotta love cask conditioned ales. Utterly chuggable. I don't detect much, if any, of the Spanish cedar. That said, this beer is fantastic. The other guys that were present with me all agreed that this beer was a gem. By far the best beer I have yet had from this brewery. Maybe we can convince Shane to brew this again.
