Had on tap at Jake's Billiards here in GSO a few days back.Poured into a goblet a deep burnt orange with a clingy half finger slight off white head atop,it just looked menacing...in a good way.Ctrusy hops, sugar, and big alcohol in the nose, the hops are not sharp more of a tropical emelent to them, the sweetness and alcohol are pretty big.Overripe tropical fruits provide not only hoppy notes but some residual sweet flavors, there is again a hefty does of alcohol but it's not to overly sweet,as it warmed a little it became more of a sipper. This is a big brash beer with bigtime fruity hops as well as alcohol,a really nice sipping DIPA.

Hazy pale copper, maybe a little lighter than I expected. Nice frothy head clumping in piles on the surface.
Pretty much smells like citra hops. Actually, there is some caramely malt along with it.
Like drinking a bitter IPA, mixed with astringent grapefruit juice. A little bite, but doesn't seem like 10% abv.
I love that there are more and more of these beers you can use to train your nose and palate, not to mention discover what is really behind the notes you like or don't like. So for that, it's great...but if I was trying to enjoy what I'm drinking, I probably wouldn't buy this again.

12oz brown bottle with no freshness date.
Bright golden hue, sufficient lacing. Grassy, orangey, catty, pineapple, cake batter, rose water and peppery alcohol in the nose. Smooth, bitter, semi-creamy, very warming, bready malt, faintly nutty, grassy, orange peel, meow, pineapple, leafy. Bitter semi-dry alcoholic finish
I get it, still a part of the series ... big ass base beer with a ton of a one type of hop carefully throw at the brew. If you love Citra this is for you ... any real hop head should give at a go as well. Bold but still drinkable.

There's a bright golden tint to this otherwise medium orange brew. It's thick and completely opaque. The just barely off-white head is small and dense before it fades to foam. That foam sticks around and drops some webby lacing in moderation.
Citra is a beautiful hop. Lots of citrus and tropical fruits are aided by some grassiness, a little spiciness, and a not-quite sugary sweetness to balance. Something that reminds me of Simcoe (the unoffensive ammonia-like note) is in the aroma too, though not as evidently in the flavor.
A medium body holds a strong carbonation and offers enough of both crispness and smoothness to keep it easy-drinking.
