Musty. Has some notes of a bubble gummy Belgian brew. The hops are not hit-you-over-the-head in nature and still works as a hoppy beer. Grapefruit and pine, Has a bit of a spicy mixed drink going on about it. Pretty refined for a Flying Dog brew as far as my experience goes.
A solid, focused double IPA.

Hazy pale copper, maybe a little lighter than I expected. Nice frothy head clumping in piles on the surface.

Pretty much smells like citra hops. Actually, there is some caramely malt along with it.

Like drinking a bitter IPA, mixed with astringent grapefruit juice. A little bite, but doesn't seem like 10% abv.

I love that there are more and more of these beers you can use to train your nose and palate, not to mention discover what is really behind the notes you like or don't like. So for that, it's great...but if I was trying to enjoy what I'm drinking, I probably wouldn't buy this again.

A-dark hazy gold with a foamy cream colored head

S-pretty decent scent of grapefruit and hops. Actually pretty awesome.

T-ooo wow this comes in with quite a bitter bite! The hops really come in for this. It's basically just a blast of hops and bitterness, in and out. Nothing else to it, nothing else needed

M-medium dry carbonation with a dry finish

O-it's not every day you get to try a new IPA that really rocks your mouth. I mean it doesn't really even settle as you drink it, every sip is another kick. Go out and find this of you can!

This beer was my introduction to the Citra hop. It was good enough that I modified my IPA recipe to include it.

Very "in your face" hop - bitter, with a nice citrus smell that isn't quite as prominent as, say, Cascade-West Coast IPA, this is not. But, that doesn't mean it wasn't an enjoyable brew! The beer itself was not as balanced as something like 90 minute - that hop bill definitely overpowered whatever malt flavors are there. But, it did a pretty good job of masking that big 10% ABV.

Not my favorite Imperial IPA, but it certainly is in my top 10. I'll definitely be trying it again.

S: Bright, tropical fruits, passion fruit, pineapple, some sour cherry, dankness

L: Amber, with a creamy white head that dissipates slightly, solid lacing.

T: Sweet, candy-like hops with loads of passion fruit, tangerine, dankness. Medium high bitterness with some melon like sweetness. Hops dominate throughout. Finishes dry with kumquat like resin. Long, lasting finish.

M: Medium bodied, medium carbonation.

Just great, definitely tastes better than it smells, a rarity. Just superbly balanced with just a enough sweetness to support the assault of hop flavors. One of the better beers I've had from Flying Dog.

Had on tap at Jake's Billiards here in GSO a few days back.Poured into a goblet a deep burnt orange with a clingy half finger slight off white head atop,it just looked menacing...in a good way.Ctrusy hops, sugar, and big alcohol in the nose, the hops are not sharp more of a tropical emelent to them, the sweetness and alcohol are pretty big.Overripe tropical fruits provide not only hoppy notes but some residual sweet flavors, there is again a hefty does of alcohol but it's not to overly sweet,as it warmed a little it became more of a sipper. This is a big brash beer with bigtime fruity hops as well as alcohol,a really nice sipping DIPA.
