Flying Dog : Green Tea Imperial Stout
Pours a dark brown, bordering on black . Off white head forms and leaves good lace. Aroma of leafy tea and roasted malts. In the flavor, green tea and smokey malt flavor. Chocolate and tea flavor work well together. Fruity booze note and rounds out the flavor with some smooth alcohol. Soft feel and drinks smoothly and quite easily. Overall, this is a good beer, the green tea supersedes the hops and adds a leafy, herbal flavor to a big time stout.

Undated bottle at 40 degrees into imperial pint glass
Aroma of roasted malt and a hint of spice.
Head small (< 1 cm), light brown, creamy, fully diminishing to a 2 mm layer
Lacing virtually none – few small clusters of bubbles, not lasting
Body dark brown to black, opaque
Flavor of roasted malt, chocolate, and a little tea spiciness. No alcohol, no hops, no diacetyl.
Palate medium to full, creamy, soft carbonation
Good. Very, very good. I wish I had purchased several bottles. Besides beginning as a lovely stout, the tea adds an interesting dimension and slight spiciness. This seems a little thinner than the Gonzo Imperial Porter, yet is still creamy and smooth.

Pours jet black with a brown head. In the aroma, sweet tea with a small roasted malt. In the taste, roasty caramel, with coffee and sweet tea notes all the way through. A small bite and a medium bodied mouthfeel, with a dryer roasty caramel malt in the aftertaste. The smell and taste of tea, with the look and aftertaste of a stout, interestingly different.
