32 oz. growler filled at Vista bev., south Salem, NY

Pours clear lite straw, off white head, leaves a delicate tiny bubble film, and nice looking fields of low sheeting and plenty of fine lace

Nose of tropical fruits, grapefruit and pinapple.

On the palate I get spicy citric and floral notes, with a slight sour bite greatly adding to the interest and complexity. Saison yeast strain also meshes nicely with the citrus and spice bite. Fresh tasting and flavorful. Highly enjoyable offering, happy to get to enjoy this one with some goat cheese and salad.

On tap at Max's (from notes).

A: Grey light yellow. Ok lacing.

S: Sweetish with something I can't place.

T: Interesting saison. Very little pineapple. Some sweetness.

M: Nice level of carbonation, you can really feel the bubbles.

O: Ok, good, but different.

Poured on tap at Pizza Paradiso Dupont in a sampler flight.

Real nice brass lemon gold body, with good thin pinhead carbonation always present. Soft creamy white head is present and a whipped up collar to match. Body is a little cloudy maybe even slightly hazy also, and there's some thin lacing while consuming.

Nose is particular focused on Belgian like sucrose sweetness, with only a little farmhouse sense coming out at all. Lots of thick sugar, and not particularly fruity at all.

Palate finally brings some pineapple but it's very mild, with some little slight funk and bitterness. Juicy to thick palate feel. Very large hop floral aromatics on the finish, leaving a large garden mellow bitterness on the swallow. Mouthfeel seems to weaken strangely as time passes which seems odd.

Overall where's the pineapple? That being said it's still makes a drinkable beer, but not an ideal saison for myself.

Poured into a plastic 20 oz cup at a minor league baseball game. Pours a cloudy amber with a small white head. Smells of pineapple and wheat. Tastes of fruit, primarily pineapple with a wheat backbone. The beer is carbonated correctly, goes down smooth, light/medium bodied, extremely drinkable. Overall, a very good beer.

The beer pours out in a hazy golden yellow color with a light white head.

The aroma immediately hits you with some faint pineapple, a bit of that candy pineapple. Then there is lots of that saison character with lemon, wheat, grass, a bit of funk, biscuity malt.

The flavor follows again, with that pineapple there, but not in a strong way. It still sticks as a saison. It has that citrus, bready malt, a bit of funk, and then a tinge of pineapple in the back. One may not pick that flavor out without knowing it was there (had this beer during a blind tasting).

The beer is pretty tasty with an interesting extra flavor. It's a bit weak of the completeness of the flavor and a bit light on the back end of flavor.

Growler poured into a tulip

A- A hazy golden copper color with a three finger white head.

S- Peppery, floral notes, bready malts, some pineapple, pear, hint of funk.

T- Beardy malts with nice tart pineapple and fruity flavors, peppery finish, touch of funk, well balanced, the pineapple is there and is not overwhelming.

M- Smooth, crisp, fairly dry, good carbonation.

O- Very happy that I have a 1/2 gallon to drink. This is a solid Saison with a nice twist of pineapple. Would liken to see this bottled.

on tap at beer study in chapel hill. shaker

pours a pale yellow with a mild head.

mild citrus scent, but not much on the nose. taste is a tad citrusy, tad sweet, tad bit of pineapple. good amount of pineapple on the back end. light body, light carbonation. higher ABV than you'd guess blind tasting this.

overall decent, but worth trying.

A: slightly hazy golden with medium head and lacing, and retention
S: little funky, can't place it exactly, but a little citrusy overcome by an old sneaker/wet dog kinda smell - in an interesting way, not good or bad
T: more citrus (without too much tartness) that pineapple to me, tending towards lime. Funkiness similar to the smell comes in after initial taste, probably from the hops, earthy in nature
M: little dry for a saison
O: for as much as it seems I would dislike it, the oddball factor makes me intrigued. Doubt I could do more than one at a time though.
