A: pale amber, translucent, light ephemeral head, distinct and fine lacing
S: sharp hops, pine
T: bitter, sharp hops, pine
M: light but persistent, mouth-coating hops
O: smooth bite, lingering bitterness, easily drinkable. It puts me in the minority, but to me it's a one-note IPA, not particularly off-putting but not a remarkable example.
Serving type: on-tap

To me, Flying Dog has been more about clever marketing than making truly exceptional beer. So it's ironic that the label of the first great beer this brewery has produced says, "Full Disclosure: This beer came to fruition because we saw a gap in our portfolio and we wanted to increase our market share."
Well, I sure am glad they filled that gap. The Truth is everything I love in a craft brew, which mainly means hops, hops, and more hops. I first enjoyed a bottle about three months ago at a bar in Ellicott City. Many sixers later, I'm still impressed every time I take a sip. Wait a minute, who am I kidding? I don't "sip" ... I gulp.
Oh, and if you happen to find yourself enjoying an Orioles game at Camden Yards, make sure you visit the Free State Pub, which pours The Truth on draught.
