Part of a sampler at the brewery - poured with a reddish-gold color, the smell had some caramel and malt flavor to it, mouthfeel was light, and the taste ended up being mostly of bitter/sour hops than malt, which was surprising because the aroma had very little hops to it.

Sampler, from 2001 notes. When I had it, I was a little more impressed, perhaps because even since then, my experience with "amber ales" has been of the Michelob variety. I found it to be rather smooth, with a definite hop presence that does not linger aftward. So it had a good flavor to me. Just nothing that pushed it over the top.

I adjust these ratings for Oklahoma brewpub beers to correct for the low gravity that they have to brew to by law.

Appearance: White head, some lace, clear copper color.

Aroma: light grainy and sweet. Very faint hops.

Flavor: mild English Pale Ale flavors. Malty and balanced with just enough hops. very light and watery for the style.

Mouthfeel: Light

Drinkability: like all 3.2 abw beers, you can drink a lot.

Overall impression: A pretty OK beer. Won't set the world on fire but it is a solid citizen.

Pours a clear amber hue with a slight head. Couldn't smell very much at first, it was served way too cold ; malty sweet when it warmed up. Light to meduim bodied with nice carbonation. Taste is carmely sweet malts. Barely noticeable hops to finish.
The favorite beer here at the brewery. Not too bad.

Nice amber-red beer that has a giant head that quickly disappears. Almost clear with just a tiny bit of haziness.

The aroma and taste are both slightly sour. There is some malt and some hops, but overall the sourness dominates too much for my taste. The sour isn't a bad kind of sour (sorta fruity) but it is just too overbearing and to me doesn't fit the style.

As all beers at this brewpub, it is served in a regular pint glass. The beer is a red-copper with a off-white head. Nice lacing.

It has a light aroma of breads, grain and caramel.

The taste tracks the smell. It is slightly sweet with some tea and caramel notes. There is a grainy type taste in the finish that reminds me of Ritz crackers. This accomplishes its mission as a cross over type beer.

The mouth is very sharp with high carbonation. Not a bad beer. It was served a bit to cold and the high carbonation makes it tough to session.

A. Poured a clear copper color with a short one finger diminishing head. Not much lacing on the glass.

S. Sweet malt, caramel, straw, leaves.

T. Sweet and malty, not much hops here, the flavor is malty caramel, slightly soapy finnish. May have been the glass though.

M. Medium to light body, fizzy carbonation, short duration.

D. Ok at best, but not my favorite at the brewery. I will probabaly not try again.

copperhead amber ale - hazy copper beer with light sweet malty aroma (overpowered by smell of onion rings at the bar). starts slightly sweet, nutty like almonds. mild but distinct bitter sticky hop bite eases back into maltier finish - Will picks up more astringency. fairly light body. tried on tap @ brewery on 6 Jun 2009.
