Purchased as a single 33cl bottle from Premier Gourmet in Buffalo, NY, paid $3.99. No freshness date on the bottle. Enjoyed it with some dark Belgian chocoloate.

I have had this once before but couldn't be bothered to review it. Poured this dark ale into a St. Bernardus chalice. It had a picturesque one finger khaki head, and a murky brown body. When held to the window I can see some golden highlights. Aromas consist of dark malts supplemented with dark fruits and molasses.

An awesome complex combination of malts, raisins, figs and dark candi sugar flavors. Little to no hop bitterness. Finish is a bit warm, but is to be expected though with the 10% ABV. Feels medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation.

This is a top notch representative of the strong dark belgian ale type, a little too much alcohol for my personal preference but is not overwhelming to the flavor. An excellent brew!

Poured from a 750mL bottle into a Koningshoeven chalice. Best before 10/05/14 (10 May?).

A: Light burnished copper. Light white head with good lacing.

S: Caramel sugar. Apples and pears. Hint of phenol and spice.

T/M: Thinnish and odd. Vanilla. Pear. Can't taste the strength at all. The taste is so brief as to be ephemeral. Aftertaste is lightly sour.

O: It's good, but too strange to great. Maybe I got a strange bottle. Would try again, if not soon.

Poured into a snifter

A: Light brown with a tan one-finger head that dissipates into tiny bubbles. Frothy lacing.

S: Bourbon, nutty, earthy, rum, sugar, caramel. Bring it on.

T: Follows nose. Smooth as hell. Nutty, dark fruits, malts and caramel. Love it. The 10% kicks in with gusto.

M: Medium with frothy carbonation.

O: A great celebration drink. I would say it's my favorite of the 3 des Rocs I've tried, but I love them all equally. Highly recommended for Belgian brew fans.
