Treacle and molasses in aroma, with crabapple, pear, floral hops, spruce, banana, and clove adding complexity.

Flavor is a bit dulled, in comparison. Caramel malt dominates. Peach skin, pear, and tart apple accent, but fade to toasted nuts in the lightly dry and fairly hot finish.

Bought this beer in the discount bin at the corner liquor store. Never heard of it,but how can you pass up Belgian triple. Threw it in the fridge opened it the next day. First thought was. What the. Lots of stuff suspended in my glass. Tastes great, smells like fresh baked squaw bread. Had to look this one up,going by the label it seems to be a 2004. Glad I got both bottles. I'm hoping the stuff is yeast. Going to try to harvest it,to make a starter. Cheers

The sight of this beer is not pretty the floaters of sediment are pretty off putting. I understand that sediment is normal in beers like this. But this sediment stayed in suspension in does not settle. The mouth feel is similar to that of that weird chicken fat skin that forms on chicken soup. So you feel the chunks. I suppose if it was strained it would be better even if it were to sacrafice the carbonation.
Smell is boozy and raisny, when it really warmed up it smelled of wet dog.
Taste is syrup sweet but not cloying. Malt driven and big taste raisins and dried fruit. It paired awesome with a aged white cheddar.
Overall I paid 4 bucks for a 750ml bottle so it was worth it. Next time I would strain it through a metal tea strainer.

Poured from a 750mL bottle into a Koningshoeven chalice. Best before 10/05/14 (10 May?).

A: Light burnished copper. Light white head with good lacing.

S: Caramel sugar. Apples and pears. Hint of phenol and spice.

T/M: Thinnish and odd. Vanilla. Pear. Can't taste the strength at all. The taste is so brief as to be ephemeral. Aftertaste is lightly sour.

O: It's good, but too strange to great. Maybe I got a strange bottle. Would try again, if not soon.
