Poured into a tulip glass. Bottled dated 6/2012. Let's see if aging improves.

A: Tawny brown with a tan one-finger head that dissipates to frothy bubbles.

S: Belgian yeast doninates, followed by caramel, chocolate, dark fruits and bourbon

T: Damn! Drinks like a quad. Follows nose with a grand entrance. Dates, raisins, figs with Belgian yeast, caramel and malts. A smooth bourbon burn.

M: Thick, heavy, chewy. Very carbonated. Sexy and decadent.

O: I love this one. The aging really did a number. Would buy again. Recommended.

Bottle dated 17/12/2011, almost 2 years old.

A: Very dark reddish-brown pour. Almost opaque. Big fizzy tan head. Head sputters out somewhat quickly like a fuzzy soda. Minimal lacing but good retention. LOTS of floaties, almost to the point of ridiculousness.

S: Lots of sweet brown sugar in this one. Dark fruits, fig and raisin and maybe even some prunes? Decent belgian yeast with some cloves adding some spiciness.

T: Again with the sweet brown sugar and lots of dark fruits. Very similar to the aroma. Heavy on the belgian yeast, cloves and earthy spices everywhere. Tastes a lot like a dubbel, just a bigger, sweeter one. Malt is sweet and bready, kinda reminds me of fruitcake if I'm honest. Mild toasted malt floating around and lingering between sips.

M: Nice medium bodied and very smooth.

O: Nice sweet and fruity dubbel-esque BSDA. Great complexity, great smoothness of body and flavors. Huge chunks of sediment everywhere was a bit disconcerting but it is what it is. Overall definitely in the upper echelon of BSDAs.

Pours dark brown with a big fluffy head that does not last. Yeasty floaties spin in the beer from the carbonation.

Dark malt, brown sugar, dark over-ripe fruit and molasses in the nose.

Brown sugared malt with some dates and dark dried fig notes. Dries out a bit to some cane sugar and brown bread. Mild bitterness in the finish. 9%? Could have fooled me. Alcohol does not show up at all.

Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation zip.

Heavier and sugary, and still easy drinking. This is worth a try.

A - Pours a cloudy mahogany with a fizzy light tan head that sticks around for a while.

S - Caramel sweetness hits you first and then it dives into a fruity twang. The fruit is a mix between citrus and dark fruits. Really interesting.

T - The taste follows the nose. Sweet caramely malts, belgian yeast and then dark fruits afterwards.

M - Medium bodied and high carbonation. Crisp beer here.

O - The ABV is well hidden and the beer is an easy drinker. Interesting beer that somehow pulls all the flavors together wonderfully.

Dark brown with hint of mahogany, sandy head s fine but doesn't stick around; specks of yeast are visible. Mash-up of prunes, dates, root beer, dark cherry, and lightly burnt caramel in the aroma. Buttery texture. Getting cherry, earthy root, lightly bitter dark chocolate, rich caramel - basically everything in the scent and more. Spices like pepper and nutmeg.
Exactly what you'd expect from a proper Belgian brune, warm, complex, full flavour with a soft, smooth mouthfeel - everything done right
