DTB Brow pours a clear brown color, with a nice lacing head. There is a nice roasted nutty aroma. The taste is much the same, nice roasted flavors, good mellow nut like notes; sweet and mellow. Good body. Overall its a very nice solid Brown Ale.

It's fine. Just fine. Nice when the establishment has no craft beer and you're in need of beer. Nice pairing with most bar foods, especially of the deep fried persuasion

12oz bottle poured into a nonic pint.

A - Dark amber with great clarity. Off-white cap of foam holds a cap. Spotty lacing.

S - Biscuit malt that jumps right into some coffee with little in between. Plenty of DMS.

T - Taste follows the nose. If I closed my eyes, I wouldn't know there were any kilned malts in this from all the base flavors. Prickly carbonation on top of some mild sweetness. Finishes with some bitterness.

M - Light to medium-light body, medium to medium-high carbonation, semi-dry.

O - It's good to support local breweries so in a pinch I would order this but not over most American craft beers. This beer has some aroma flaws and really lacks all character in the taste.

Recommendation - Pass this up.

Served slightly chilled in a standard pint glass at a local bar.

A=Very dark brown, with a slight hint of red...almost opaque. A thin, ecru foam head was less than standard.

S=Nice smell of malt--cocoa and cream.

T=Rather strong taste of semi-sweet chocolate at first, with a bit of coffee and biscuit...seemed to turn sweeter and lighter as I drank. Somewhat of a mix between semi-sweet chocolate and milk chocolate, but not bitter.

M=Lighter body than I anticipated, with a lower amount of carbonation. I would have preferred it to have a bit more body, but the lightness makes it a good session beer.

O=I enjoyed this beer and would buy it again...I had paired it with a hamburger, but drank most of it before the burger arrived...still, it was light enough to compliment the burger rather well.
