Appearance: Pours a clear, brown color with a definite amber hue. A mild off-white head. SRM of 18. (3.75)

Aroma: Moderate aromas of caramel, brown malt, toasted bread. Somewhat earthy and bready. (3.75)

Flavor: Mild flavors of brown malt, brown bread, toast, crumbs, with traces of brown sugar. Leans dry clean. (3.50)

Feel: Moderately carbonated and leans dry and clean on the palate. (3.50)

Compared to Bells Best Brown Ale 4/20/21: Pours a slightly lighter hue with a milder head. Milder aromas. More brown malt and toast. Less caramel, cocoa, pine, red fruit, citrus. Dryer overall. Winner: Bells Brown

Overall: A decent brown ale, but sort of underwhelming. Brown malts, toasted bread, but watery and dry. Could use more malt flavor and intensity here. Not terrible, but definitely room for improvement.

I'm trying this at the brewery. It poured a deep amber with off white head that is leaving some lace. The scent was mild with malt notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with light malt base mixed with a subtle caramel sweetness. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

Brewery pour. Light brown sugar/caramel color.

Aroma of slight nuts, roasted malt and coffee, slight metal

Taste is roasty and dark but lighter notes of nut, coffee, and scorched caramel

Crisp but slightly starchy on the finish

Overall a good not great brown

Mouthfeel: Very watery.
Taste: ok for a brown ale
Look: just like a cola
Smell: has a weird "off" smell. Can't quite pinpoint it, but it just smells odd, like a very faint cola.

Bottled 8/1/18

It's pretty late and I am tired. Bought a 6er of 12oz glass bottles at a KwikTrip in LaCrosse, WI. Everything you'd want in an American Brown Ale and nothing you don't. Although, for my taste (and I'm not a "hoppy guy") it could stand a little more bitterness and crispness on the back end. All-in-all, worth every penny of the $8.79. PEACE.

A - Dark brown body with orange highlights, largely clear, with a light tan head, moderate, and extensive lacing of tight bubble formed into irregular strings across the glass.

S - Chalky minerality, clay, with a toasted bread aspect and a bit of caramel.

T - Follows the nose, Lots of toasted white bread, a hint of caramel sweetness, and a lingering earthy close.

M - Brisk open, with just a hint of lingering stickiness on the close.

O - A quite decent brown. I like my bread flavors a touch darker, my earthiness a bit more restrained, but this is quite fine. Drinkable and with a nice range of flavor.
