Visited on a wet and windy afternoon in Sep 2013.
I thought it a strange place: down a few steps from the entrance and you have to walk past the kitchen area and serving bar. Some seats (roped off) to the left, the rest are through towards the rear. The whole joint seemed to be aimed at food more than beer, at least it did at 13:30 on a Wednesday when we entered.
Brewing coppers and tanks in evidence and the semi- modern designed high tables with stools next to more traditional longer tables with benches worked well. Tiled floors and bar fronts and brewery stuff hanging around.
We shared a half chicken and a Laugenbrezel: the Brezel was lovely, the same could not be said of the chicken. The three beers were OK rather than exciting, the staff friendly and unassuming, only coming over when called.
Glad I've visited, not really bothered about returning though.

This brewpub is located downtown, in the street next to the tower that looks like the Schwaben Tor but thats something else. Some tables outside, but it was raining. The brewpub is in a basement, and the atmosphere was kind of cold. Sure they have two tanks in the back that make it look like a brewpub, and some tables with nice old lights on it. But why is there a cafeteria-bar in the middle??? It ruins the whole atmosphere, really. The waiter was just polite enough not to be called rude, and had a hard time understanding that I couldnt have several pints as I was driving. I asked if they had samplers, but they didnt. Whatever. The beers were quite nice, and I would have loved to sample their weizen, but they only had it in half liters, and I was already at my maximum level of beer as DD. Next time. Its kind of sad that you would come there just for the beer. It would be so much nicer if the whole atmosphere was friendlier: a smiling waiter, no cafeteria in the middle, and change the 25 year-old poster that shows how to make beer. The selection was wider than at Feierling (also in Freiburg), a pilsener, a weizen, a dunkel export, and, on my way outside, I saw a small sign saying they had a seasonal Bamberg-style rauchbier
I wanted this one pretty badly, but I couldnt drink more, unfortunately. Prices were quite decent; a pitcher goes for 6 euro 90. The food selection was basic and German, mostly sausages and some snacks. Didnt eat there though.

A small brewpub located near the Martinstor (Martin's Tower). Hey a namesake brewpub and tower - of course I was going to visit, although I never did figure out what side was originally the inside and which was the outside of the city. It's located near a covered shopping plaza.
The bar is a few steps below street level, a small bar is backed by the brewing equipment visible through a glass window.
Only 2 beers when I went, a Pils and a Dunkel, but both were good, and available to go in German style ceramic swing top growlers. The Pils designation seemed to be something they used with Americans, a generic word for a non-Dunkel.
That growler made a great souvenir, although it took up quite a bit of space in my backpack. The beer comes in .5 liters at the bar. This is a fairly expensive brewpub/restaurant - I went at a time when the dollar was near record lows (it hurts to look at the exchange rate in my notebook from the trip), with the dollar sucking wind against the Euro now, you might want to stick with a drink or 2.
The bartender was quick and courteous, and was as fluent in English as I am.
The only food I had were some pretzels, off the spinning pretzel wheel contraptions on the bar (not Bretzels here, you're not in Bavaria any longer).
