12 oz brown bottle with a freshness date on the side of the label. This bottle was from Liquid Solutions.
Appearance: Milk frothed head and sticky all over, dim and hazy yellow colour.
Smell: Fresh kneaded dough with a mild citric hop and spicy husky grain.
Taste & Mouthfeel: Moderate body and a laid back crispness, mouthful of yeast and pale malt with a big splash of rye malt … raw on the palate. Citric hop and more yeast and rye don’t want to let go and linger for a long time. Finishes slightly dry.
Notes: Oh so tasty, why are there not many rye beers in the world? I’d drink them all and this one is a good pick. Obvious pairing would be a turkey Ruben on rye.

A rye Kolsch? I dig it.
Sunny golden body with a puffy white head. Retains well.
Perfumy and floral nose with the pale malts noticed underneath.
Starts with a biscuit/cracker-like maltiness. Becomes a little grainy before the heavenly botanical hues creep in. A bit spicy (rosemary), and very floral. Spiced up again at the finish with some German hops. Not hugely complex, but wonderfully crafted. Marvelous restraint, as it would have been easy to over do the rye here. Precision balance.
Just shy of medium bodied. Both crisp and creamy in the mouth.
This is an all-time summer brew (I am assuming it is Fish Tale's summer seasonal). Quenching and downable, but well worth reflecting upon.
I can't think of a kolsch, traditional or otherwise, that I prefer over this.
Much credit goes to jreitman for letting this fish swim east.

A creamy white head sits lazily atop a cloudy golden base. It holds well, and leaves some nice Brussels lace. The bouquet is perfumey, floral and fruity with a light note of orange rind. The medium/light body combines with a very fine-bubbled, median carbonation to become lightly zesty on the tongue before becoming creamy and smooth across the palate as it warms in the mouth. The flavor is rich with sweet biscuity malt, a clove-like spiciness, some floral hop flavor and a firm/supportive bitterness. It finishes dry with a coating of light spice on the tongue. Very well done and highly enjoyable. An interesting beer that's worth trying!

The beer pours a hazy Organic yellow orange color, the head portly in size, creamy in texture and the color a very light tan, with the lace a thick covering sheet to seal off the glass. Malt aromas weigh heavy in the nose, earthy, with a certain mustiness that is common in organic beers, crisp and fresh, and a real treat for the schnozzle. Begins malt and lightly sweet, the mouth feel is middling, the finish has a light hop spicy bite, the carbonation tolerable and the aftertaste quite dry and long lasting. A fine drinking beer, one that would set well in any location, but with summer coming faster than Id like a good Arizona Summer Beer.

My first experience with this brewery. This is a spicy, zesty Kolsch...Bright yellow in color...creamy white lace....nose is grainy with some spicy, leather like notes....on the thinner side of medium bodied....taste is spicy and sharp...closes with a dry, herbal finish...I decent beer but not one I would jump up and down about...just not my type I guess...

I just lost this review so I'm doing it from memory. I just drank it an hour ago though, so it won't be too tough.
This is a hazy golden in color. Aroma of belgian malts and floral hops. Pretty nice. The spicy rye notes and floral, piney hop notes seem to dominate. This is definitely an interesting brew. The malt profile is there, but it just takes a seat in the background. The drinkability of this beer is very high. It's the type of beer that taunts you to drink more and more and MORE. This is a bad thing if you only have one beer of it since the experience lasts less than 5 minutes.
My first experience with Fish Tale is a positive one.
