When pouring it into mug get a black bodied beer with a tan head that has low to moderate carbonation with good lacing and very good retention. The smell is of cocoa, and coffee. The taste is like chocolate milk with a hint of coffee, milk and hops. I do not taste any bitterness in this stout which is good for a milk stout. It has a good creamy mouthfeel to this light to medium bodied brew, but it seems kind of watery to me. Due to it being watery makes it a very drinkable beer. Not a bad tasting beer, but I prefer the stouts that are more bitter in the chocolaty taste or the oatmeal stouts where the sweetness and bitterness is much more balanced.

Pint on-tap at the brewpub.
Deep, dark brown (basically black), but only a thin ring of tan foam, no real head. Slightly sweet smell, charred grains, some cocoa. Taste has the roasted elements, again slightly sweet. Chocolate and coffee also come through. Medium, bordering full body and mouthfeel. A good all around beer, but not great. All the basics for a good stout were there, but all seemed a bit restrained. Would love to back and see how some of their other beerséstyles compare.
