12oz brown bottle with a freshness date.

Clear reddish amber color, three fingers of dense tiny bubbled head. Hoppy aroma ... soft resin, orange pulp, light mint, earthy. Some toasted grain and alcohol in the nose as well. Very bitter and quite warming. Leafy, hop oil, pungent, semi-astringent, dried grass, pineapple skin, melon rind, tobacco and estery alcohol all make a big impression on the palate. Bitter drying finish.

Insanely hopped, a bit out of whack ... hard to find any balance here. If you are looking to punish your palate with hops then give this one a try. Big bitterness but the hop flavor seems dis-jointed. Decent.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a dark amber color, with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains floral hops, caramelized malts and some citrus.

T: The taste starts out with a strong grassy hops bitterness. Then a hearty malt character comes in along with some caramel and citrus sweetness creating a good balance. The after-taste is slightly hoppy and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, nice kick, very good representation of style, this is a solid IPA worth drinking for a long time.

12oz. bottle served in an American Pint. Best by August notched on the label. Pours a burnt orange hue with a slight haze to the body and a loose, quarter inch nougat colored head that eventually dissipates into an oily slick. Nose is fairly malt forward - toffee notes with perhaps of hint of pine in the background. Taste follows nose with the addition of some citrus that cuts through the flavor profile. Finishes with a lingering earthy/herbal bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium-light with a prickly carbonation and a slightly oily texture. Overall - pretty decent beer, but not really what I think of when I hear West Coast IPA. That said, a respectable addition to the Cyclone series, but a little too malty for my general sensibilities when it comes to the style.

A-Pours a dark copper hue. Minimal white head dies off to a thin seam of fuzz. It manages to lace quite well. Body is clear.

S-Candied citrus and lots of underlying sweetness. Mostly a combination of those two. Reminds me of a poor man's DFH 90 Minute.

T-Metallic flavor attacks immediately. Then a sweet combination of candied oranges and boozy caramel. No depth, no complexity. Not awesome.

M-Boozy for a beer less than 8%. Bitterness just seems to spring up and doesn't feel like its tied to any particular flavors.

O/D-I liked their India Point Ale; this one not so much. I keep thinking of Will as a degenerate, remedial version of 90 Minute. Not hard to find faults here.

Newport Storm is kind of hit and miss with me. I like their year-round IPA and Imperial Stout Vlad. Others I have tried such as Hurricane Amber and Hefeweizen are mediocre at best. Unfortunately, this one falls in the latter category.

It's billed as a "West Coast IPA" - so I immediately though of one of the best ones out there - Green Flash's West Coast IPA and had high hopes. I expected a strong citrusy flavor, with heavy bitterness and I got none of that here. The bitterness is only moderate and it's overtaken by too much maltiness. Not much complexity or flavor here.

I had a hard time finishing this one and quickly moved on to Dogfish Head 90 minute.

12 oz. bottle. Freshest before July 2013.

Ruddy gold body. Clear and clean. Pinkie finger of very dense, whipped, light khaki head. Beautiful lacing. Nose is full of butterscotch and Scotch tape. Faint notes of rummy fruit and pine sap.

Herbal hop bitterness right off the bat. Lightly toasted malt quickly turns fruitier, with a little caramel and butterscotch sweetness. Scotch tape and pine hops take over early on and lead to some pretty insane bitterness. Rummy fruit percolate through, but the hops dominate. Somewhat harsh and intense. Numbing. More herbal and pine in the finish. Lingering fruit and booziness. Medium-bodies with a somewhat sticky feel. Mighty bitter, and not totally in a good way.

Pour is a clear amber orange with dense half finger of tan head, fading quickly.

Nose is pretty malty, with notes of caramel, apple, pear, cherry, and a little whiskey. Nice.

Taste is strikingly dry and bitter. Little bit of malt and sweet up front rapidly dominated by massive bitter hop. Really crisp, dry and biting.

Feel is a bit on the thin side of medium.

Interesting flavors but just so unbalanced. The hops are just too much and don't meld really well with the malts and other flavors.

Dark copper color in appearance, looks almost like freshly brewed tea. laces the sides of the glass but has little to no head about a minute after normal pouring.

The smell is extremely fruity, and blueberry immediately comes to mind for me. Had I not known I would think this was a blueberry ale upon smelling it. Very inviting.

The taste is not as fruity or sweet as I expected after smelling it. There is a bitterness that IMO needs to be counterbalanced by some sort of sweetness.

Medium body, just the right amount of carbonation to make up for an absence in frothiness or creaminess (which I would not expect from an IPA obviously).

I really like NS's amber ale, so I gave the Will IPA a try. Overall it was not my best IPA experience, and I particularly like IPAs. Taste is the most important factor for a good beer IMO, and as I mentioned there was not enough complexity in this department. Bitterness is an important factor in any IPA, unfortunately it is the only factor that this beer showcased.
