Clear and the colour of marmalade. No head.
Light hop aroma (but not much).
Very little taste. Some metallic bitterness.
Watery with very little carbonation.
Not imperial in any way - I won't be buying this again.

Slightly less alluring aroma
Some peppery bitterness in the flavour

Posh label on a 500ml bottle: this beer was first produced in cask form but the brewery thought it would sell in bottles too!
My bottle was poured into a UK pint sleeve: looks a lovely sight, good amber body with a full white bubbley crown on top. The head left some lacing as it died with the beer level.
No huge aromas, some maltiness, with a soft, mellow fruity hint.
The taste was mildly of malts, just outdoing a hop bitterness, fruity like the smell as well. The mouth does dry quickly though, not an attribute I'm overly keen on, unless I'm expecting an extra hoppy beer.
Plenty of flavours to chew over for a 3.8% ABV beer, just not my sort of brew really: can't put my finger on it, but it just doesn't do it for me.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Jan 2012. Picked up from my local off-licence for a bargain price. The metallic label features a crown and crossed union jacks.
Poured into a Sam Smith's pint glass. A hazy, deep golden-amber colour with light carbonation. Small white head that disappears quickly. Looks like it might contain live yeast - there appears to be residue on the interior base of the bottle but nothing mentioned on the label. Not much aroma; primarily a fruity odour that resembles fermenting apples and some grain. Not the usual ale smell, and not great either.
Taste is pretty weak. Nothing in the way of malt or any sweetness. Notes of grain and a harsh, dry bitterness. Faint notes of citrus and acidic fruit. Mouthfeel is thin and watery, leaving the palate rather dry. Unpleasant.
Not a good drinking experience - although difficult to describe as I've never had anything quite like it. The flavour is unbalanced and nasty, with various off-notes that seem artificial and chemical. There is a dry bitterness from hops but no real malt character or floral notes. The fruity notes don't seem to belong; they give the impression of unintended flaws. Overall - bad. I won't be having this again, and I don't recommend that you do either.
