Stopped here while in the IE today for work, it is on the corner of Baranca about a half mile from the 10 Freeway in Downtown Covina, looked like a run down liquor store from the outside, place was not exactly clean inside and it was pretty cluttered but still moderately organized, all the beer was in the back on three different large shelves or in fridges, the lady working at the front said nothing to me the whole time but shouted if she could help me find something when I left after I did not find anything that particularly caught my eye, the selection probably would have gotten a whole point higher if most of the bottles were not way over their fresh date, I mean a two and a half year old ipa bomber for seven dollars is not exactly appealing, onto what they had was a 2006 Alemsith Decadence, large 3L bottles of Stone Double Bastard, Oaked AB, and a Stone 10th Anniversary which a guy picked up while I was there, they still had some winter Yulesmith from last year, Avery 14th Annivesary, Port High Tide IPA, some ceramic Rogue bottles, lots of Belgians, Lost Abbeys including Devotion and Carnevale which you do not see much around here, 2005 Thomas Hardy's for five bucks was the best deal, there was tons of other things and almost everything locally available you can imagine, the beers that are not in the fridge are in the direct light and it was not exactly cool back there, cool place in this area but needs to be better taken care of, prices were decent but the imports and harder to find brews were more expensive than Freeway and BevMo down the street, might stop in here again down the road, might be worth checking out, especially if you live in this area

This place has some good beers, and is well organized.
7 or 8 coolers with craft and import beer and 5 racks also with craft and import beer.

Many of the bottles have been here longer than they should, and the selection doesn't often change.

I found a bottle of olfabrikken porter here a few months ago, which was cool because they don't make it anymore, and it is a great beer.

The younger guy is very helpful, but pushes beers made by epic brewing pretty hard.

All in all it is a better than average beer store with helpful people working there.

The place looks like any other liquor store that one would pass on a big street. Upon walking in they had the xtra large bottles of oak aged bastard. They have a good selection of Stone and Ale Smith offerings. Some belgians as well like gulden draak. The owner is a nice fellow and broke out last years yule smith for the same price as the new one. I come for the San Diego area beers and they're always here. It's one of the closer liquor stores to my house and I'm glad to have it. His prices seem to be comparativley cheap as well.

Located on the corner of San Bernardino Road and Barranca Blvd. in Covina, CA, this place has a fairly good assortment of microbrews, wine and cigars. In fact, I was surprised by the large selection of microbrews. The owners (dad, mom and daughter) were very helpful and said they would order for me any beers they were out of. They had all the Stone products, including 6th Anniversary Porter and a bottle of Stones's 7th Anniversary Ale. They had a few different brands of AleSmith, Avery, and Bear Republic to just name a few.

Still on my quest for the 03.03.03 V.E., I stopped in A&J's and found a nice little gem of a store.
This is a non-descript store that you could almost drive right by and not notice, as I nearly did (and I was looking for it). Once inside, I walked by the obligatory wall of macros and the snacks, thinking "I'm not very impressed." That changed when I reached the back wall and started sorting through an interesting variety of local, domestic imports, and foreign imports. 750ml bottles of Hennepin, a full range of Stone brews, including the 7th Anniversary ale, and a nice little lineup of Belgian ales. The more I looked the more impressed I became. The most intriguing find had to be the Alesmith 2000 Grand Cru. Prices seemed pretty reasonable for a small corner liquor store.
I asked the manager if he had any V.E. and he said they sold out within two weeks of getting their shipment. However, he did mention they would be getting Stone's Double Bastard in November. The manager also took the time to point out a couple other items he had.
For a small, corner package store, A & J's has some nice items on the shelf.
