12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a dark ruby/crimson with an off-white head with a tan tinge. Nice color and leaves nice lacing and retention. The aromas have a strong hop presence. Lots of orange zest and grapefruit. Some caramel malts along with some subtle wheat notes. Raisins and dark fruit. Some banana. The flavors are pretty sweet, but finishes with a solid bitterness. Lots of citrus. The hops really shine. Lots of orange. Some lime is in the mix as well. The wheat really takes a backseat, but it's there. It's a pretty clean and refreshing beer. The mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium-bodied. It's creamy and fluffy. Very smooth.

This is a pretty unique beer. I like it. It's worth checking out if given the opportunity. Solid use of citra hops.

12 oz can. "swirl before 03/29/14" printed on the bottom.

Pour is dark almond amber, darker and loose khaki head, stays nicely initially. The goes to a thicker film, nice low sheeting and respectable high ringed lace and lower strands.

Spicy hop nose. Fragrant, floral and citric are adjectives that come to mind.

Tasty dark n hoppy wheat ale. A style I'd love to see other brewers take a stab at. Notes here of more citric hops, some tropical fruityness and some dark wheaty malts. Moderate bite tot he hops in the finish and a nice smooth smooth finish with malts smoothing things out. Nicely done

Appearance: Foam is just ok. Lacing is just good. The color is amazing. Solid nut brown when you pour, but it vacillates between murky orange and translucent red when held up to light. Incredibly unique. The foam and lacing are the only thing preventing me from giving it the rare perfect 5.

Smell: Resiny pine. Faint citrus in the background. Very festive.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Very subtle cedar flavors and quite a bit of yeast. Fairly malty, but a little too bland for my liking. Faint lemon and orange combined with some pepper in the background. Nice medium-bodied and yeasty mouthfeel.

Overall: Flavor is lacking, but I appreciate this hybrid hoppy-wheat beer.

A - Clear deep red/amber color. Nice 2 finger head white in color that was retained for a decent length of time. 4/5

S - Very heavy on the grapefruit. Very hoppy which fit the given description of the beer. Slight hint of wheaty graininess. 4/5

T - Tasted like it smelled. Very heavy on grapefruit and tropical flavors. Indistinguishable from many Pale Ales that I have had before so I did not really get the wheat. 3.5/5

M - Wheat shows up here nicely. Very smooth. Nice wet finish. 4.25/5

O - Good offering. Really very simple in it's tasting profile but a nice execution of brewing. Not what I expected but would order again. 3.75/5
