A very nice beer from Two Brothers.
Pours a lighter brown with a decent tan head.
The citras smell a bit on the piney side with a hint of grapefruit.
Only a small piney hoppiness in the taste to go along with a malty sweetness that must be from the wheat. They go very well together.
On the thinner side. Overall a very good, easy drinker.

Can best by June 2014.

A: Clear brown-amber color with two fingers of frothy white head.

S: Smells very much like an amber crossed with a brown ale, with a little bit of must added in. Baker's chocolate the most outstanding thing here; generally very pleasant.

T: A little chocolaty, with some considerably bitter citrus hops backing things up. Nice balance, and a nice mixture of sweet vs. bitter throughout the entire taste. I see this is a "fall" seasonal, and as someone from the midwest, I think it's pretty perfect for the fall season.

M: Medium-bodied, moderately carbonated.

O: Decent beer from Two Brothers, in a style that I'm not particularly familiar with, but that blends dark and hoppy beers together pretty well. I'm definitely interested in picking this one up again, and hoping to see this currently esoteric style expand a bit.

Paid $2.19 for the single can. Seeing this is a fall release makes this over 5 months old.

A - Old it may be its still very carbonated giving me a inch plus of opaque colored head. The beer itself is quite a slight clear brownish black color. Like some heavy darkwood.
S - Mostly citra hops and wheat from the can. In the glass about the same I wanted it to have more in depth smells of caramel or bread but its really not there.
T - Pretty much what I expected the hops are bright but timid Citra highlighting then you have some wheat which is balanced and strong and the finish is again bitter and lingering. Simple yet effective.
M - Light to medium kind of watery but to be excepted for the ABV.

Overall I am glad this held up from the Fall release it was a decent ale that I may have again. Try it!

12 oz. can that suggests drinking by 4/27/14. Poured into a short wheat glass.

The tab popped with vigor, and I poured this mahogany-colored beer into a short wheat beer shaped glass. The head was very decent, and the body itself is a clear luxurious brown color that shows off ample carbonation. The head drops down to almost nothing, but does show incredible signs of lacing.

The aroma is most impressive, but it is as expected maybe, since Two Brothers calls this their "Hoppy Dark Wheat Ale". The hops shine bright here, with an orange citrus aroma and hint of sweetness. Light berry aroma possibly? When agitated, more of the wheat aroma comes out and offers a pleasant huskiness and more hops.

Night Cat starts with a wheat and citrus hop flavor up front, with maybe only a slight suggestion of darker malts and sourdough bread. There are shortbread flavors here as well, which play well against the sweet and pleasantly bitter Citra hops. Across the palate is a full-flavored beer with a light body and creamy texture; a combination of many things...aggressive hopping, malt base lightened up by wheat, and rich carbonation. It finishes very lightly sweet, with some aftertaste of tangerine and apricot.

This is maybe only the second beer from this style that I have consumed, and I know that this is a winner between those two. Very tasty beer, easy to drink, and would pair very well with harder cheeses like Parmesan and Gouda.
