This is a decent American Facsimilie of a HefeWeizen. Not spectacular but not bad either.

Pours a hazy sunset orange/gold with a tightly knit white head. Nice Carbonation evident.

Smells grainy with a fruity yeast overtones.

Tastes like a mild hefe. Some banana and cloves - again quite mild. some tropical fruit also muted. Gently hopped with a clean mild finish.

Mouthfeel is light an fizzy.

Very drinkable. Nothing to make a special trip for but good none the less.

12 oz bottle, poured into a tulip glass at approximately 40 degrees F.

Appearance: Pours a bright and sunny straw gold, mildly cloudy beneath a fluffy white head.

Smell: Fruit and spice drifting above a ripe wheat field, redolent with notes of banana and clove. This is one of the first US "hefeweizens" I've smelled that has given me hope that I'm actually about to taste a traditional hefe.

Taste: Tradition confirmed. This beer billows with banana and bubblegum esters, atop a tastefully understated mix of clove and coriander. While nothing particularly stands out, that's not exactly a bad thing - this actually drinks like a hefeweizen.

Mouthfeel: Light while bordering on creamy, this is a quaffable brew!

Overall: I am quite pleased to have found another US version of a hefeweizen that is not a pale wheat ale with a misleading title. Will definitely repeat.

Pours a hazy yellow gold from the 12oz'er into my tulip glass. Head is small and fades fast. Looks good. The first smells are of cloves, bananas, some phenolic tones and lemons. Nice but a little subdued.

First taste is upfront with a nice smooth sweet maltiness that carries notes of cloves, light citrus tones and earthy yeast. I enjoy the subtleness of this one as the flavors balanced. There's an intersting bit of sourness as well.

Mouthfeel is nice with a medium body and good carbonation. As for drinkability...this is more of a brew I'd have every now and again. A nice change of pace and a nice example of the style.

12 oz. bottle poured into a New Belgium snifter.

A - One-finger head of loose, bubbly white foam that dissipates quickly, leaving a thin film of lace on the surface. Nice trail of bubbles rising from the center of the bottom of the glass. Hazy lemon yellow. Moderately cloudy, but can identify objects on the other side of the glass.

S - Telltale banana/clove nose and light wheat. Banana dominates, almost like it's a syrup or candy.

T - Noticeably more subdued than the nose suggests. Light wheat-cracker taste, with a touch of banana appearing in the finish along with just a bit of lemon. Bittered just enough to balance the fruit without actually showing hops. There's also a hint of spicing in the background. It's all rather subtle.

M - Decently fizzy, but not over-carbonated. Decent structure for the style. What finish there is is quick and clean.

D - A fairly restrained but traditional expression of the style. Since it doesn't push anything at you, this could be quite enjoyable during a warm-weather session. A good selection for the friend who typically turns his/her nose up at craft beer because it tends to be too pronounced.

12 ouncer, with best before dating on the rear label. A healthy load of yeast on the bottom of this one, I swirled the bottle and ended up with a very cloudy, dull apricot brew, plenty of clove in the nose. leases nice looking, light and well dispersed lacing. Notes of the expected yeast induced bananas, more clove and some sweet and smooth vanilla.Has that "creamsicle" ice cream pop, flavor, smell and feel to it. Nice, fruity, easy drinking American take on the classic German style. On the sweet side, refreshing and quite drinkable.

I've been really digging hefes lately. Here's a review of my 1st taste of two brothers version
A-fairly hazy with a finger of white head that quickly subsides into a ring on the pint glass. Color is golden with orange tint.
S-typical-cloves and banana, plenty of wheat
T-a lot like the aroma. Finish is a bit long with just a hint of bitterness
M-nice body with moderate levels of carboation
O- a solid hefe. Nice taste with an above average body. Biggest complaint is little longer finish than I would like

Hazy straw gold under a cream colored foam cap. Bready nose and palate with banana, clove and vanilla. Medium to medium full body, medium to medium high carbonation. A very refreshing and easy to drink beer.

Pretty tasty . . . Some decent hefe characteristics and some not so decent. Glad I tried it.

Yellow pour, has the average amount of haze to it, 1" head, but retention was subpar, lacing not impressive either. Aroma was heavy wheat bread, almost banana bread.

Taste, eh, just wasn't into it at any point, no particular bad flavor, but was just so pedestrian. Identifiable as a wheat beer. Nothing like the good tang of the better ones. More clove than I would care for, which is a very low bar to begin with for beerandraiderfan. Light body, even for a hefeweizen. Some kinda artificial lemon flavor seems to be there.

I dunno, just another beer to me. Indifferent.

Hazy darker yellow -- chill hazed in the glass...head is nice and pillowy and starts at 1/2 an inch and laces decently. Fruity aroma, a little astringency, with notes of spiced pear and cloves. A little too lemony for my tastes but theres also a lot of bready and yeasty qualities here with a spicy finish. Esters are not whopping banana. Pepper at the close. A pretty nice Wheat, with good mouthfeel, and even though Hefes will never be favorites of mine, this was a pretty good one in most aspects aside from slight sourness.

Cloudy lemon yellow like color to it with a fluffy thick all day lasting white head. Aroma has soft clove mild lemon and banana tones as well, not in your face pretty subdued. Flavor has some chalky yeast notes, with a bit of fruit mild banana, citrus tone with a clove finish. Acidity presence brings a tart quality about it, dry powdered yeast slap pack notes. Mouthfeel is light airy not to effervescent with carbonation, decent mix nothing offensive on my palate. Drinkability is solid a nice summer beer not super German hefe, but more so than the average American wheat.

Picked up a sixer at Beverage Barn in Westhampton, NY. Bottle was then poured into traditional Hefe glassware.

A: Semi-aggressive pour produced a supremely disappointing little to no head with absolutely zero lace to speak of. Beer settled a hazy golden color with plenty of sediment.

S: Nose is mostly that of a typical German Hefe style. Lots of banana, clove and lemon citrus. What differentiates this beer from others is its inclusion of very detectable vanilla undertones, which add a nice aroma to the mix.

T: Bready to begin with and then a sudden burst of dominating lemon sourness mixed with vanilla, clove spice and banana. Not well balanced at all as the wheat finds itself completely overpowered.

M: Medium bodied with little to no carbonation...Maybe I got a bad bottle?

O: While this beer isn't terrible, its not great either. With so many superior choices in this style, I won't be grabbing this one again anytime soon.
