22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, 2015 vintage bottling. Pours pitch black color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big milk chocolate, cocoa, peppermint, caramel, toffee, toasted dark bread, light coffee/smoke/nuttiness, and herbal/roasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and peppermint leaf notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk chocolate, cocoa, peppermint, caramel, toffee, toasted dark bread, light coffee/smoke/nuttiness, and herbal/roasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, peppermint, caramel, toffee, toasted dark bread, and herbal/roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and peppermint leaf flavors; with a great roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate cooling peppermint notes on the finish that slightly build through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky, and slightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with, minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice peppermint porter style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and peppermint leaf flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

2015 edition, for what it is going for this is good. You have to be in the mood for it though.

Black body, tan velvet head. Nose contains great realistic peppermint and milk chocolate, as well as the beer flavors of roast malt and the kind of chocolate that comes from that process. The flavor brings out more of these roasted barley notes, while still continuing the attracting feature of, well, peppermint bark, in perfect balance. Sweet but not overly so, with just a hint of char bitterness to counter it. Smooth medium body.
Perfectly done stylized beer. Delicious liquid refreshing peppermint chocolate beer, while still offering porter flavor. One oughtta know what it is when it's picked up, and it'll deliver on those expectations.
