12oz bottle given to me by demcorhip. Poured into a pint glass.
Pours a blood orange-red colour with just about 1/4 inch of head. Very little carbonation or lacing, head retention is poor. Aroma is sweet and floral with a hint of citrus. Slight metallic aroma, some apple blossom with crackery malt in the background.
Taste is bitter off the top with grapefruit and orange peel, then herbal and peppery. Dried fruit sweetness, figs dates, raisins, all backed up my a good crackery malt presence. Nice balance, not too bitter or too sweet. Quaffable. Mouthfeel is creamy, finishes dry, carbonation is very mellow. This is a well-balanced and flavourful IPA that might just benefit from a cleanup in the aroma and appearance department.
