Must say after reading some of the reviews I was kind of figuring this one to be just another average DIPA(if there is such a thing,Ilove em all!) To me this bad boy hangs in there with all the other big boys, very nice!
Poured a medium golden color with minimal head, very average looking.
Smelled more malty/carmely than hoppy not to bad.
Taste was pretty decent though, kind of like the smell, agree it could of used more hops here but does a nice job of blended smoothness,sweet-literly!
medium smooth balanced mouth as well, pleasant.
this dude goes down dangerously good, no alcohol burn and tastes great, 10%ABV I Like!

Lot 1554

Pours an effervescent amber a thumb of cream colored head. Sheets of lacing & pretty good head retention

S: Tropical fruit & breadyness, & a little boozeyness, then grapefruit

T: Pineapple & breadyness, some woody hops with a touch of astringency up front. Dryness, pineapple, grapefruit, a little mango & bready sweetness as this warms. Finishes grapefruitty, with a little pineapple& bready sweetness

MF: Medium bodied, fairly restrained carbonation, good balance, warming

A very enjoyable DIPA, this brewery has pleased me very much so far

Bottle from Tipples. Lot 1554 but no bottle date. Pours a deep dark orange red color with a beautifully creamy two finger off white head. Aroma is floral hop notes, rich bready malts, crisp and grassy. Flavor is big time caramel malts here, light fruity and floral hop notes, and a dry floral finish. Medium plus mouthfeel, strong bitterness, and medium plus carbonation. The malts really dominate here and it comes off like a very solid American style barleywine than a hoppy DIPA. No bottle date but I assume this is fresh based on the source of the bottle. In any case solid beer, but go in thinking the other end of the DIPA spectrum from the likes of Heady Topper or even Enjoy By.

Pint poured at Beef O'Brady's in Newburgh, IN.

Pleasant amber color with nice fence lace.

Aroma is pine and bitter citrus. Not great, not bad.

Taste is heavy pine and bitter hops. Plenty of malts to give it a nearly sweet edge. Quite drinkable. This one I really liked, especially following up what (to me) was a sub-par Atwater Hop-A-Peel IPA.

[12 oz. bottle ] Pours a nice crisp and clear medium amber color with 2/3 finger creamy white head. Small and large bubbles exist. Cool label with pliers squeezing hop cone into pint glass.

Smells slightly citrus orange. Some sweet breadiness/biscuit in there too. slight alcohol. could be more aromatic for my liking in a DIPA.

Definitely more hop in the taste than the smell. Lots of orange citrus, but smooth bitternesss and sweet caramel hit you up front on this one. a little bit of pine too. nice medium body and slightly syrupy mouth feel, but not over the top. balanced pretty well with the 9.9% ABV. carbonation is spot on.

Finishes bitter and malty with a lil alcohol heat.

Pretty good DIPA. I'd drink it again.
