Nice dark wood colored brown with a little reddishness to it body. Light carbonation visible under a good white head that settles slowly to a thin lace that clings to the glass all the way down.
Nose had a lot of citrus hop aroma but it was backed up by the rye malt body. Really deep sweetness but balanced buy some burnt undertones from the rye. Very smooth mouthfeel and taste from the big malt character. The smell is certainly sweeter than the taste. The hops and rye work together nicely to give a nice bitter body that's sweetened a little at the beginning with some citrusy flavors and again sweet in the aftertaste with the warming 7 percent alcohol showing itself only slightly. Long bitterness in the back of the palate however, screaming for another sip.
This was really good. The rye and hop flavors balanced well and the mouthfeel was smooth and very drinkable, would get again for sure.
