Dark brown with a creamy small lace....mild cocoa on the nose....silky smooth in the mouth....nice light chocolate flavor notes...low bitterness but some dry hop finish...I think this is a splendid beer and would be an excellent session beverage(as the name suggests)..

The beer pours a very clear, very nice looking dark burgandy. There's a creamy tan head that disappears within a minute, but laces the glass quite nicely during the drinking experience. There's some faint cocoa and java accents on the nose. This is fairly impressive for what the brewery was trying to accomplish - a session ale. This damn near tastes like it was hand pulled from a cask. There's very little carbonation and a creamy silk-like mouthfeel. The taste is very easy going. Nothing real overwhelming, but it tastes good nonetheless. Some mild chocolate and coffee notes. Dried prunes maybe. The English hops show their stuff sporadically throughout the drink, but never are they overbearing. Very mellow and highly drinkable. This passes as a session ale in my book.
