On tap at the Stag's Head, NYC. Poured into a pint glass.
Appearance: Hazy copper, with minimal head and a few streaks of lacing.
Smell: Weak malt, and nothing else.
Taste: Nice, mild hop and malt balance. The hops have a nice bite, but almost no character. There's a mild toasted flavor, with some vague fruit (apple?). Pleasant malt aftertaste. Not very bitter, not that sweet (maybe a bit too sweet, but only a bit).
Really, I thought the taste was bland and I was utterly unimpressed, but perhaps its the style and not this instantiation that is too bland for me, so I'm not rating it too low.
Mouthfeel: Decent carbonation, but a bit a watery.
Drinkability: Pretty good. Maybe it would go well with food... On its own, it's hard for me to say that it's very drinkable, since the flavor is so muddy and characterless. Water has high drinkability, but if beer is like water, is it thus drinkable?
I didn't like this beer at all. Perhaps I am not the one to review American pale ales... but I enjoy a good malt / hop balance as much as the next guy. I didn't see anything in this beer to suggest it. As a note, this was my first beer of the day, and I hadn't eaten all day, so it's not like my palate was fried or anything. Honestly, I wanted to like this beer more than I did, but it didn't particularly seem to want me to like it.

Appearance: Pours amber with about one finger of foam, light beige that does not retain and leaves minimal lacing. Clear with decent carbonation showing.
Aroma: Light citrus hop aroma but I did not detect much anything else.
Taste: A mild citrusy hop flavor but not big like a lot of APA's. Overall this beer is pretty mild. Crisp and clean, the hops do linger.
Mouth Feel: Smooth and crisp with a light to medium body. Finishes dry.
Overall: Not a bad beer but I was hoping for a little more out of it. Certainly would drink it again.
