Served this 12 oz. can in a Sam Adams glass. Best by 9/28/12. The body was slightly hazy and apricot colored. The head was frothy and off white. It left a film on top and some lacing down the glass.
The smell was bready and then mild citrus.
The taste was big on caramel malts. Some grapefruit bitterness tries to muscle in without much success. I drank this one more than a month before the "best by date" but I think maybe its best days were behind it. This drinks more like an APA than and IPA. Very muted bitterness and a prominent sweetness. Rather dull overall.
The mouthfeel was medium bodied with tight, zippy carbonation.
