A: Burnt-orange/amber in color. Humongous off white head created from me trying to pour from the growler into the glass and not on the counter. Sticky with lots of lacing.
S: Up front floral hops with lesser grapefruit aroma fading to a noticeable maltiness.
T: Balanced is the key word here. First note is caramel malts, a little bit sweet, balanced out by the typical English-style bittering hops.
M: Medium weight. Medium carbonation. A little cloying sweetness, but finishes with a nice mild bitterness.
D: Very easy to drink. Can (and did) have multiple beers in one sitting. I'm going to guess the ABV is somewhere around 6 or 7%.
This beer reminds me very much of a hopped up Bass pale ale. The color is virtually identical and the flavor is quite similar as well. However, this beer is much more aromatic and the flavor hoppier, though by no means is this a hopped up monster. As noted before this is a very balanced beer - noticeable malts and hops - in the style of an English Bitter or English IPA.
Serving type: growler
