Pours a nice sticky looking head over a very hazy copper body. Leaves some nice lacing in the glass, but the chill haze signals the flaws in this beer.

Smells of pine, porridge (overcooked grains), band aid, and some mushy nondescript tropical fruits.

Tastes the same.

Wish there was more carbonation to wash the taste away that just sticks to my mouth.

I want to like this brewery considering I see it everywhere. I hate to outright pan a beer and indeed, there was a time I didn't mind this brewery. But the more I come back to Two Brothers (and this happens every time I drink one of their beers, which is rarely these days) I wonder why a beer that tastes like someone's first attempts at homebrewing is on the shelf at my local beer/wine store.

12 ounce can, a present from Bill Bird of the Green Growler Grocery in Croton on Hudson NY. Best before dating on the bottom of the can...

Pours clear lighter almond amber, off white head, fluffy and loose, leaves a more then ample frothy collar, low sheeting and bands of fine lacing.

Mild nose of some herbal hops and a hint of malt.

Middle of the road IPA, moderate hopping makes this one feel more like a pale ale.

Smooth and easy drinking with notes of mild citrus, pine, and then a malt and smooth finish. Everyday IPA, sessionable, a good IPA for IPA newbs, cuz the hops are not gonna crush your senses...

Thanks, mjohnson17!

A very balanced IPA. A bit too much malt character for my personal tastes, but this is certainly a well constructed and very drinkable IPA. The hop flavors are mild citrus with some definite pine character. Caramel and pale malts combine well.

This beer plays nice with others, it's not an Outlaw by any means of the word. It's more of a politician IPA...looks like it has a fresh layer of tan in a can with a copper hued body and frosted off white head. The texture is dimpled just like the cheeks of one of those cheesing politicians louting for your vote. Aroma is caramelized malts with hints of hops coming through the nose, it's the type of Kool-Aid you can get anyone to drink especially when you name it the OUTLAW IPA, look I love two brothers but their German style beers with butterflies although not sounding too tough next to an outlaw has more balls and depth than this beer. When I mention depth I'm talking about credibility these are the Cane and Ebel guys, the Domaine duPage French farm house ale guys, not the Outlaw canned approachable but nervous at a party IPA guys. They brew beer in oak staves, this is just a solid approachable IPA call it Monarch slap a butterfly on the can and label it as a reserved but beautiful drinking IPA that should be drank with pinkies up. Really mouthfeels like I just douched with perfume, lingering watery hop bath, not a real IPA. Sorry guys I love your beer and I will love this beer once it's marketed as a more subtle loveable can offering I will drink that Kool-Aid, rather than an aggressive IPA that it's not.

for being an easy sipping, hop-n-malt bang bang, laced with subtle traces of floral kush. Highly evasive and easily transported across borders and stadium security in crimson 12oz coyote cans. With an innocuous carbonation designed to insidiously carry and distribute the citrus and pine Molotov, this Outlaw should be considered armed and dangerous, mostly due to the penetrating effects of both its malt-bomb attack and devilishly charming drinkability. Consider yourself compromised if you’ve had more than one. Call your posse for backup. Do not confront alone.

(Served in a Nonic)
A- This beer has a slightly hazy deep orange body with a thin creamy light beige head that turns bubble and is supported by a gentle carbonation.

S- The soft hops have a pine hint to them as it opens and a green citrus hint in the finish.

T- The caramel sweetness blends with a mellow citrus green hops and slight sweetness in the finish fades to a bittern note that lingers.

M- The medium mouthfeel has a gentle fizz in the finish.

O- This beer has a soft hop profile and the sweet malt character is a little too sweet to be cut by the hops.

2B tap takeover at Swig on 7/11/12. First beer.

This is a clouded amber-copper brew. The nearly white head on top is impressive, particularly on tap, not for its size (since it's cut down anyway), but for that fact that the inch or so of head on it sticks around for a while and especially how it clings to the glass as the beer falls.
The aroma is a beauty, offering a balanced hoppiness that's complex, with citrus, tropical fruits, floral and pine notes and an even malts presence that lets it stand out complemented by that sometimes-mentioned sweet, candied orange (marmalade) note that just works in this beer. The flavor is interesting in that it's not as potent or as enticing as what's on the nose, ending up being a good-tasting beer that needs as much flavor as it has aroma.
The feel offers a rolling smoothness from a light crispness underneath in a medium body and is fairly creamy.
