A clear yellow amber color with a solid off-white head and respectable lacing. The aroma offers nutty pine with a slight citrus kiss. There's a bit of sweet vegetable going on and it's generally a very "edible" smell. The flavor brings a more grassy hop bite that dissolves into an evergreen vegetable/herbal hop mix. There's an almond nuttiness but it settles mostly to a mild pine hop sweetness. It's medium bodied with a gentle but frothy carbonation for a somewhat luscious feel. A very balanced blend of bitter grass and sweet pine. An agreeable IPA that might suit the session seekers.

Beer served from can into a Nonic shaped pint glass

A - Beer pours with nice pumpkin orange colored body; bit hazy and not very bubbly; frothy creme colored head forms at the top, holds well, and is about one finger thick; lacing is very good

S - Moderately roasted malt; deep sweet caramel smell; touch of acidic fruit; slightly floral, rose; bread; maple syrup

T - Sweet malt taste; pine and mild flavors of citrus comes up well after every gulp; caramel; touch of scotch; bitter hops; maple syrup

M - Bitter aftertaste; creamy consistency holds throughout the entire drink; mildly carbonated

D - Very easy to drink; definitely a try for any American IPA fan; good blend of malt of hop flavors

(From notes)

A - Poured with a solid finger of slightly off-white foamy cap; fairly clear, light burnt orange color. Pretty decent head retention

S - Fruity citrus hop flavors; faint whiff of grain

T - Hops are mugged by a sweetness factor that I really just didn't enjoy that much; some fruity hoppiness slides in; sweetish malts and cereal/grain like flavors took over

M - Thinner to medium MF; lightish carbonation

D - Not that great for me in the style; wasn't expecting a hop bomb or anything, but just got some cloying sweetness with the sample that I had

Overall, not a bad brew, but just not a great example in the style.

A - Dark copper with a nice fluffy white head and nice lace. Slightly hazy.

S - Floral hops, tangerine and orange juice.

T - Slightly sweet at first, moving towards citrus on the back end. Nice malt support for the tangy hops.

M - Medium bodied, solid on the tongue. Finishes a little to bitter .... almost acrid.

This is a really nice IPA, I like the canned package. Easier to recycle and pack into and out of a campsite.

12oz can poured into a snifter. Bottom of can reads "Best By 08/23/12.

A- Pours with a very typical look to an American IPA. Color is a light/medium orange with some cloudiness to it. About a finger's worth of initial head fades to some sticky lacing along the sides of the glass.

S- Mostly citrus aromas come about; sweet grapefruit and maybe some mango. I don't get any pine aromas in the smell.

T- Well, I thought the pine was nonexistent in the smell but it's there in the taste. Drinks nice with a piney, bitter back end.

M- Light, thirst quenching, bitter.

Outlaw is Two Brothers newest year-round IPA. I like the idea of distributing it in cans, as cans seem to be the new experiment in craft beer as of late. Outlaw overall is a nice IPA that I would buy again if I want something good that I can drink a few of during the day. The lower ABV almost makes it sessionable.

Clear amber color with a huge thick off-white fluffy head with good retention and leaving laces.
Predominant aroma of pine with toasted malts and a hop citrusy with pepper.
Flavor of toasted biscuit malts, pine, caramels, earthy and citrusy hops, grass and spices. Hints of grapefruits and rye. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Medium body with medium carbonation
Interesting IPA, quite unique taste. Very malty, earthy and spicy.

Aroma: Clean fermentation character with lemon zest, orange rind, and pine all hitting the nose.

Appearance: Clear amber pour with a moderate white head that retains well.

Flavor: Pine-like hop flavors up front followed by some lemony sweetness. Just a touch of sweetness that is quickly subdued by the American citrus hop flavors. Balance is firmly to the hop. Finish is clean and dry.

Mouthfeel: Medium body, slightly oily, and medium carbonation. Slight warming in the back of the throat. No astringency.

Overall impression: I forgot that I had this in August of 2012 and I can only assume I had an old batch. Glad I forgot about it and picked it up again b/c "Wow!". I'll make sure it's fresh but I'll get it again for sure.

12 ounce can, a present from Bill Bird of the Green Growler Grocery in Croton on Hudson NY. Best before dating on the bottom of the can...

Pours clear lighter almond amber, off white head, fluffy and loose, leaves a more then ample frothy collar, low sheeting and bands of fine lacing.

Mild nose of some herbal hops and a hint of malt.

Middle of the road IPA, moderate hopping makes this one feel more like a pale ale.

Smooth and easy drinking with notes of mild citrus, pine, and then a malt and smooth finish. Everyday IPA, sessionable, a good IPA for IPA newbs, cuz the hops are not gonna crush your senses...
