Pours a hazy brown with 1 finger head and good lacing. Smells of tea leaf, citrus, and pineapple. Tastes mildy bitter on front of sip with some earthiness. Finishes with moderate bitterness. Aromatics of this one are better than taste profile.

Amber-orange color. Nice off-pale head, decent persistence.

Clean, malty, apricot nose. Evocative of DFH90.

Taste is medium roast-malty on the approach, then a deep, hoppy, apricot and grapefruit bitterness.

Mouthfeel is very nice, rich, carbonation is perfect.

Finish is really rather bitter. Grapefruit pith. Fits with the beer, just... not altogether awesome.

Appearance – This one came out a dark copper in color, a very pretty hue, but with a modest head.

Smell – The complex hop profile, led by grapefruit and light citrus but also with a bit of lemon and modest pine, was quite harmonious. There is also some malt sweetness in the nose which meshed well with the hops.

Taste – The malt came through nicely at the taste but the hops fell apart somewhat. The grapefruit was still there but the complexity was gone.

Mouthfeel – I thought this was too thin for the flavors and the bitterness awkward.

Drinkability – This went down easy enough but could have been so much more.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled in fall 2015. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate dark/bready malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, melon, lemon/orange peel, pine, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate dark/bready malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a smooth, moderately sticky/resinous, and creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice East coast DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate dark/bready malt sweetness; and very smooth and easy to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
