Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a nonic half pint glass

Pours deep golden with amber and orange hues. One finger head which slowly reduces to a thin foam ring. No lacing. Tropical fruit dominates by pineapple on the nose. Opens with pineapple and hint of mango and papaya, joined by sweet caramel malt. Finishes with some grapefruit rind bitterness, a very mild accent of oak, and some phenol alcohol. Medium bodied, mild carbonation, oily and sticky. Heavier Handed is a decent enough brew, but it seems the heavy malt bill overwhelms the contributions of the wet hops leading to a brew that is a bit unbalanced and overly sweet. Heavy Handed never seems to disappoint, but this double version aged in french oak isn't as impressive.

A very smooth IPA. Love the use of fresh hops. It really adds to the flavor of the beer. Definitely a step above heavy handed. Taste is very smooth and good. Not even abhint that it is over 8 percent. Another great Two Brothers brew! Color is bout perfect! Great beer!

A - Not much head to this just a 1/4 inch that settles to a mild lace ring. It's ok.
S - Smell is good for a DIPA not too hoppy mostly malts so it might be old. Smells actually nice.
T - Taste is great balanced taste of citrus and herbal hops, crystal malts and crackers about. Super easy to drink but not great.
M - Light to medium is this 8%

Overall it is good but I found it too lacking. It was 8.99 for the bottle its for sure not worth another purchase but it is one of the smoothest DIPA's I drank. Would love to try this fresh.
