From the experimental cellar - this bottle is 'best by 10/21/10'...what the foudre? Let's see -
Appearance - pours with an absolute rush of foam. Slowed things down but it still took a few minutes to get the last ounce poured. One long tendril of sediment reaches down into the glass and is summarily blasted by the high bead activity going on. The head is so slow to peel back. There's a huge crater in the middle where I poured the last bit in. A solid wall of lace on the glass. The beer itself is a cloudy dull orange/gold.
Aroma - chalky grains, an oak-muted lemony citrus, a little soapy. I would say the oak is more prominent than when fresh.
Taste - the hops have aged out quite a bit. Very little snap left but an orange and lemon bit still remain. The grains have a hard time getting through due to the woody flavors of the oak which display a bright tanginess, playing well with the hops. The aged hops give a hint of barleywine flavor. The swallow and aftertaste is bitter but not at all harsh. Dry, with a low mellow citrus and punchy oak ending. I am a fan.
Mouthfeel - fluffy for sure, even two-thirds of the way through, the bubbles are flowing steadily. Somewhat bolder body, good idea for this one.
Overall - I enjoyed it much more after three years. That doesn't always happen, but I'd try to grab another sixer for 2016.

Pours a hazy honeyed yellow and half inch merengue white crown.
Slight floral pine scent and sweet bready malts. Tropical fruit.
Bitterness well honed into the honeyed malts. Got some pineapple going on. Quite sessionable.
Light to medium bodied brew that finishes crisp and is quenching. Love the bitterness that lingers to remind you that you just had a quality crafted brew. Couldn't really pick out the fact of the oak aging but this IPA is surely set apart for greatness.
Don't know how this eluded me, but had some at a Two Brothers beer tasting at my local liquor store and was initially impressed and got me a sixer. F---ing delicious!

A - Pours a nice Gold color, fizzy 1 finger head, moderate lacing.
S - This had a moderate oak kinda aroma to it, nice floral and earthy hop scents, some fresh squeezed orange juice and a pinch of pine.
T - Sweeter malts with a smoother aged oak kind of texture to it, nice juicy hop flavor mid mouth, and finishes on the drier side.
M - Lots of flavor here, medium bodied, and definitely chewy in texture, and a tad bit of burn.
O - Not bad, definitely something different, I'm not totally sold on the barrel aging, but for some it might work, very chewy texture, and the alcohol burn isnt so great, but its a decent try.
