Thanks to Exiled for sharing this bottle.

The beer pours an orangish-amber color with a white head. The aroma is fairly one-dimensional and is dominated by toffee from the malt. The flavor is toffee and grassy/earthy hops with a tad bit of smoke mixed in. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Dimpled Mug.

Appearance: Bright copper-orange without much head.

Smell: Cherry, caramel, oak and biscuit. Fairly sweet and boozy.

Taste: Sweet caramel and cherry upfront, with some biscuit notes. Finish has oak and light noble hops. Can taste the alcohol; distracting in this type of beer.

Feel: Moderate carbonation, medium boozy body, finish has some residual sweetness.

Overall: While the oak is a good idea, this is simply too sweet and boozy to be a really good Marzen.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a Sam Adams "Perfect Pint" glass. Bottle says best by 12/1/12.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy copper amber orange with a lot of rising bubbles. Solid three fingers of off white head with good retention. Lacing is fairly light.

Smell: Bready and malt forward with hints of the barrel. Sweet toasted malts with hints of caramel, biscuit, toffee, and crackers. Hints of oak come through with a little bit of cherry and apple. Also some light cinnamon and nutmeg spice hints. Some grassy, earthy hops round out the smell. Solid aroma.

Taste: Like the nose hints, a malty Marzen with a interesting twist from the barrel. Sweet and toasty malts with good notes of biscuit, caramel, toffee, yeast, cracker, and apple. Some oak and wood with subtle notes of cherry and vanilla. Light taste of spice including cinnamon and nutmeg. Light hop presence in the background with some earthy hops. A solid and interesting taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate level of carbonation. Creamy, crisp, and pretty smooth. Fairly sweet to start, with a somewhat dry finish.

Overall: A pretty decent spin on the style. Nice caramel malt taste with a interesting mix of oak and spice.

Appears a slightly clouded deep caramel amber with a big billowing cream colored head. Fine speckled lacing scattered in my liter Paulaner krug. Aroma has some nutty caramel sweetness, tart cider like notes in the background. Alot of bread dough malt driven tones without much herbal hops to balance things out. Flavor super sweet almost sugary, lacks the balance that a nice toasted bread malty herbal hopped Ofest has I get it this isn't a straight up marzen this is a boozed up maltier version. Of all the Two Brothers beers I've tasted this is my least favorite. Mouthfeel becomes cloying especially once you're half way done, not my style of beer. I've had imperial Ofests that worked with higher alcohol the unbalanced malt/hop ratio is killing me. Carbonation is a bit much almost too heavy tickles the back of my throat and nares. Drinkability overall is really limited I wouldn't even suggest a bomber, I've been there and done that no need to revisit.

(Served in a dimple mug)

A- This beer pours a clear caramel color with a thin meniscus of antique white head and a swirling carbonation of tiny bubbles.

S- The flinty dry malt aroma is clean and nicely lagered but there is a bit of a nougat smell in the finish with a soft green pungent hop note that grows as the beer opens.

T- The dry wet stones flavor soon gives way to a lightly toasted malt that is nicely lagered with a crisp pungent hop note in the finish. There is some sulfur taste that starts to come through in the after taste.

M- The medium-light mouthfeel has a full crisp fizz in the finish.

O- This beer has a nice smooth malt flavor but I would really like to see a bit more sweetess just to add character to the malt and cut some of the pungency of the hops.

A: Red orange dark amber with white foamy head
S: Like fall - toasty caramel malts - bread/yeast
T: Follows the nose well - has maintained traditional Oktoberfest taste nicely
M: Soft carbonation, good medium body
O: A great Oktoberfest with one of the best mouthfeels of it's style

Appearance- Nice orangish brown hue. Not much head, but then again, I poured this one into a gigantic 1/2 gallon margarita type glass, so there isn't much chance for head. I won't dock it for that.

Smell- A Yeasty, bready, malty aroma. Not too powerful, but not overly strong.

Taste- Nice sweet caramel notes with a hint of bitterness at the end.

Mouthfeel- A little bit syrupy. On the thicker side of your average oktoberfest.

Drinkability- Good, not great. I don't think I would drink several of these while hanging out in my leiderhosen, but at the same time I would have another one.

Appearance:
Practically flawless! Clear, rich copper-colored body with a thick, off-white that leaves plenty of lacing as the glass slowly empties. Plenty of carbonation.

Aroma:
A simple, caramel sweetness hangs about it that is laced with fresh citrus and spice.

Taste:
An Earthy, bitter bite catches you off guard up front, but is perfectly balanced with malty sweetness. Vague caramel and oak notes wrap themselves in a fresh bread. Finish is nice and spicy, leaving you yearning for the next sip.

Mouthfeel:
Silky smooth and easy to drink. Refreshing and lightly carbonated sum up this medium-bodied beer beautifully.

Overall:
Easily one of the best Oktoberfest-Style beers I've ever had, if not one of the best beer, period. Find it, buy it, & enjoy it!
