-The J series. Oktoberfest aged in oak foudres.

A: Dense coppery-orange with a immense, feverish display of carbonation within. Small bready off white head with a short rate of hold recedes to a patchy covering with minor eye lash slashes of lace on the vessel.

S: Scent of caramelized oranges, moderate in strength, fresh and wet nature finishing out with a lightly caramelized bread crust. Slight to average in strength per style.

T: The flavor had a strong, oaky caramelized malting with semi-dried oranges and noble hopping. Buttered caramel bread sweetness.

M: Spritzy mouthful from the carbonation, very active, perhaps a bit to much so per style, oaky alcohol warmth on the inner cheeks and tonuge.

O: Overall a different approach, a bit high abv% wise per style, deeper speciality grain influence and oaky alcohol makes this a bit heavier to consume then your typical lighter drinking fair. The carbonation is also a bit zealous and over-active. Not a bad beer, some interesting attributes from the oaky alcohol, a bit outside the box.

(Served in a dimple mug)

A- This beer pours a clear caramel color with a thin meniscus of antique white head and a swirling carbonation of tiny bubbles.

S- The flinty dry malt aroma is clean and nicely lagered but there is a bit of a nougat smell in the finish with a soft green pungent hop note that grows as the beer opens.

T- The dry wet stones flavor soon gives way to a lightly toasted malt that is nicely lagered with a crisp pungent hop note in the finish. There is some sulfur taste that starts to come through in the after taste.

M- The medium-light mouthfeel has a full crisp fizz in the finish.

O- This beer has a nice smooth malt flavor but I would really like to see a bit more sweetess just to add character to the malt and cut some of the pungency of the hops.

Appearance - Pours about a finger of off-white eggshell head, color of the body is a lightly hazed orange amber, the head disappeared in a few minutes, and left no lacing in my glass.

Smell - Light oak, roasted malt, dark toffee, freshly baked wheat bread, brown sugar

Taste - Much like the nose, , begins with slight woody oak, wheat bread, sweetness from brown sugar and toffee, some light roasted malt, and hints of nutmeg - finishing with some more oak, wheat crusts, unsweetened molasses and some light minerals and light earthy hops.

Mouthfeel - Almost medium, beer is flavorful but not bold, carb is lower side of medium and smooth, with a few edges at the sides of the tongue. Feels slightly on the watery side for a 7.7% beer, drinkability is good.

Overall - A good flavorful fall beer, oak flavors are interesting and fit well with the other flavors. A good fall beer, and worth a try.

Bottle > Pint Glass

A - Clear orange gold with a finger of white fizzy head, no lacing.
S - Skunky, herbal, some light grass, sweet malts, a little bit of burnt grains
T - Overly sweet taste, artificial kinda sugary sweet, baking flour, wheat, malty, slight red wine on the end.
M - Cloying flavor semi dry feel, alcohol burn.
O - I really did not like this at all, way too sweet.
