10th release of 15 retro beers to celebrate 15 years of brewing!

Pours out a nice bright orange, that's pretty hazy and has a 1 finger, fluffy white head.

The aroma is very subtle; some coconut, orange and tangerine with floral and grassy hops.

The taste is also very subtle and again doesn't provide very much coconut. There are a lot of orange, tangerine and fruity type flavors along with grassy hoops, bready malt and honey suckle. A very easy drinking beer, but the coconut is extremely subtle.

A refreshing drink with a light mouthfeel, but overall disappointing. With all the ingredients from the coconut used I was expecting something more flavorful and with more coconut presence.

's Bier of the Day: Two Brothers "Pāhoehoe" Coconut Ale: Pours a HUGE, dense, white head. Soft malt aroma, and if I work at it, I can find a hint of coconut. Once the head subsides, the coconut aroma becomes noticeable. Golden. Taste is slightly bitter and a touch of sweet. Moves into a low hop bitterness, flashes metallic, then is just malt. After a minute or so, I get a spectre of coconut. Very little coconut present.

This tastes mostly just like an all-malt lager, actually. The coconut is VERY subtle, and even though this is only 16 IBU's, the hops still drown out the coconut.

On tap at the Bavarian Lodge in Lisle, IL on 3/3/11.

Aroma:It smells really good, there's lots of sweet coconut in the aroma, but not much else.

Appearance:Pale gold in color with little head and some medium lacing.

Taste:Huge coconut on the foretaste, they really did this one right. In the midtaste of this beer, faint bitter notes show up, and linger on through the aftertaste, but they play second fiddle to the huge coconut flavor.

Mouthfeel:Smooth and creamy with good carbonation.

Overall:Great, easy drinking, coconut beer.

Had on tap at Two Brothers and whoa, this is a different one. A light body, somewhere between tannish yellow to light brown with a white two finger head. It smells of coconut right away, which is a good thing to me considering my love of the fruit. As for the taste, it was very smooth and mellow, an upfront coconut flavor hits with almost no hop bitterness save for an extremely light hint at the finish. The more I drank it the more it started tasting like sun tan lotion and then back to coconut and then back to sun tan lotion.

It's hard to say if I truly enjoyed it but it's innovation and changing flavor has brought me back to it a few times now.
