I went to the Lost Dog Café with family after a soccer match in NOVA on 2920 Columbia Pike in Arlington (not the North Arlington), but figured it should be about the same. Nice low key-laid back sandwich shop atmosphere. Huge bottle options and decent 20+ draft options. I opted for a 5oz pour of Boulevard's Rye on Rye (12%) because I had to drive home. I liked the different size options (5oz/14oz/22oz) offerings and pricing right on the menu. Nothing hidden and nothing you have to ask about. Very nice to see that for a craft beer establishment.

Food was decent and the menu was extensive and could please anyone. Again this isn't a fancy place nor anything quaint but a pizza/sandwich shop with a catering to the craft beer crowd.

I love that right when you walk in you can see the selection of beers they have. Its easy to pick and choose bec you have access to the fridge. Its nice to be able to buy and leave or to drink there and enjoy it there with a Phoenix (their best sandwich)

A - Sort of a fancy sandwich shop. Nice booths. Open and well lit. Clean. A entertaining dog motif. Good for a couple or a famliy with kids. Has take out and a small bottle shop in the front.

Q - Be careful on bottled dates for the hoppy beers. Food is of a high quality.

S - The wait staff at the tables is excellent. Friendly, attentive and quick. The wait staff are not necessarily well schooled in the beer they serve, even in a cursory manner. BUT worse, the bar can be at the best, hit or miss. Sitting at the bar can be very frustrating. The bartender I have had a couple of times ignored me for 15 minutes (not even a menu). Thus my average score in this area.

S - A wide variety of beers on both tap and in the bottle. But nothing too rare or unusual. Did find a Bruery Tart of Darkness in the coolers out front once.

F - Not a fancy restaurant, but all the food from the pizza to the sandwiches are fantastic. A wide selection. Something for everyone. Meat eaters to vegans. Picky to not so much.

V - Great value on food. Beer is average value.

Of special note - Lost Dog has a big selection of bottles, but no bottle menu that I have ever seen. So if you are not sitting at the bar you are at a loss. Lost Dog would do itself well (and sell more of their higher priced beer) if they had a beer menu.
