Poured from 12 oz bottle into snifter.

A: Pours deep brown with one finger tan head. Some light lacing.

S: Caramel, nuts, and lightly roasted malts.

T: Follows the nose fairly closely. Drinks a lot closer to a brown ale than a porter.

M: Medium body and average carbonation.

O: As a brown ale, this is an enjoyable but average beer. As a porter, it is a disappointment. It needs more roasted flavors, stronger aromas, etc.

Got this from a friend from TN. Appearance almost resembles a cola. Not as dark as other porters. Slight tan head on pour and disapates quickly. Little to no lacing. Aroma is some slight coffee, smoky chocolate. Taste is chocolate and coffee and some light hops. Very smooth good mouthful. Easy drinking nice porter.

Honestly, I got this beer on a whim and it was the only porter that I could find at my local market that I hadn't had before. It's super smooth and best alone. It's not too heavy and for a porter not too overwhelming. It does lean a little to the lighter side.

12 oz bottle from TN with no BB date notched on the label despite the presence of notch-date marks. Served in a Belgian snifter.

Pours light for style, with a clear rd-brown body. The body remains light for style and clear even after I shake the few drops of sediment out of the bottle. There's a decent head but it soon dies to a partial coat and thin ring. As the color suggests, this has less very dark roasted malts than many porters; nonetheless, both the aroma and flavor feature medium and medium-dark malts. The aroma is sweet but the flavor is faintly bitter overall and carries a suggestion of coffee.

Feel: medium-light body and light carbonation.

Overall: a gentle, mild, easy drinking porter.

Pours a big light brown head that dies into a long lasting full lacing above a what i think is a clear dark brown with a red tinted colored beer.

Dark fruits (Apricots maybe Prunes) with Hershey's special dark chocolate and light coffee hints on a dark roasted malts aroma.

A dark dry roasted taste with a light smooth dark chocolate taste that brings with it very light coffee hints.

A dry aftertaste with a lot of dark chocolate hanging around on this medium bodied beer.

This is a very solid porter, I really wish I lived within the distribution range of Blackstone.

Clean American yeast with English drinkability. I couldn't tell this apart from a brown ale, especially with the dark chestnut color. There's a Tootsie Roll-like cocoa flavor with mild toast and light-roasted coffee and toffee. Again, super drinkable. Get yourself a six-pack. Only real knock is that the aroma's a bit muted.

Dark brown cola colored body with good carbonation and decent tan head.

Smell is roast, chocolate, and coffee.

Chocolate and coffee flavors are followed up by blackstrap molasses.

A little thin in the body, but good carbonation.

This was a solid porter, and very drinkable.
