Sampled at the brewery during a "beer school" gathering, so, although listed as retired, is back in production. Blackstone has done a nice job of matching the style. Belgian candy sugar sweetness with bright malt. A touch of classic Belgian funkyness at the top, with a cotton candy finish.

Had this on tap at the brewpub. Talking with the owner, it seems that they will not be brewing this one again - this was done for their 10th anniversary only. OG = 1.077, IBU = 25. Pours a yellow color with some cloudiness and a white head that sticks around and leaves some lacing on the glass. The aroma has a spicy character with a hint of malts. Mostly spices in the nose. The flavor has a lot of the spiciness that the nose had, but it also has a pepper character to go along with it. Very smooth. Finishes with a slight bite from the pepper/spice. Very good. I'll have this one again. Actually, I bought a bottle to take home with me.

22oz. bomber poured into a snifter. Bottle #249 of 250. Thanks to clvand0 for bringing this rare beer to our tasting. It pours a hazy orange-yellow color with half a finger of head. Not much lacing going on. The smell is spicy, lots of pepper, which I like. There's some citrusy character as well. The taste starts with more of that citrus. Lots of lemon going on. There's some spice in the middle, but the finish is just a little cloyingly sweet. The mouthfeel is nice for a tripel, and the drinkability is good as well. A decent tripel.

Bottle number 249 of 250. Thanks to clvand0 for the opportunity. The beer departed the bottle a hazy, slightly golden yellow color with a small head that falls to a ring the beer. the nose reminds me of a souped up Belgian White ale. Coriander, some orange peel, slight bit of banana, a peppery quality and a decent fruity sweetness. The flabor was nice, with a good spicey peppery character over top of a lemony.orangey citrus sweetness. The feel was moderate to thick with a light carbonation. I found the beer to be very smooth and easy driniking. Very enjoyable. Its a shame that its not available beyond the anniversary batch.
