Pours a nice orange with some light red highlights. Nice clarity.

Aroma, light toasted aroma, with an accompanying delicate hop aroma.

Flavor and Mouthfeel: Carbonation is a little higher than I'd expect, very crisp. Taste is well balanced, slightly biscuity, light toasted flavor, finishes clean, but with a little lingering sweetness. The sweetness is very well balanced with the hop level, this beer would satisfy hop lovers and malt lovers. Balance.

Overall, nothing extraordinary, but a solid flavorful beer for almost any beer drinker's tastes.

This pours a lighter copper color with a rather light head, aroma is grassy and zesty definently of hops for sure, taste is a little over the top hop-wise for a standard pale very citruisy and piney with a light soapy finish.Well made and if I was hophead probably would have enjoyed more.

A - Gold, moderate carbonation, very bright, big white head that hangs around and leaves some lace.

S - Lot of citrus and pine hop notes with some caramel and toasted malt.

T - Big citrus hop flavors that are balanced by a nice bready malt falvor without too much caramel. Very balanced.

M - Right on for an APA, pretty light but a nice smooth finish.

D - Very good APA, very drinkable and balanced.

This was a very solid APA, one I will miss when I run out.

Bright gold/amber with an offwhite head that's thin, but hangs in there pretty damned well.

Cascades! But wait... what's that? A Fuggle? Malt? The aroma is pure California style APA, but the flavor adds a nice malt balance and a hint of Fuggle that balances the Cascade beautifully. Had this after working on a porch all day then watching cars go fast & turn left, and it was nigh-on perfect. Could drink this all day if it's hot outside, half a day if it's not and there's a couch nearby. An excellent brew from a small brewery that has more than a clue about good brew.

12 ounce bottle, w/o any freshness info. offered.

Pours cloudy, orangy amber, a bit buisy carbonationwise, with a lot of bubbles rising. 1/4 inch head goes flat quite quickly, lite tan, medium sized bubbles. Leaves a thicker collar, patchy film and fine bits of lacing.

Faint cascade infused nose, gritty hops and a hint of fruit.

Dry cascades again on the tongue, quite dry and exhibiting a decent presence/feshness. Some fruityness, and medium malting on the underbelly, lubricating the palate. In general seems a bit on the thin side with respect to flavor.

Nothing real special going on here. Drinkable? yes, sessionable? yes. Gonna blow anybody away? Def. not.

12oz bottle, no freshness date, poured into a standard pint glass. on the side of the bottle it state "brewed by the southern tier brewing company for ellicottville brewery"

pours a very clear golden orange color with about a one finger of white head. good retention, but just tiny bits of lace.

not a huge aroma. hops are not very noticable, but they are there. maybe some mango and light citrus and a touch of pale malts evident.

the taste makes up for what the flavor lacked. still a little light in the hops. a decent amount of bitterness is there. mango and lots of grapefruit citrus balanced by a nice tasting pilsner/pale malt. just a hint of a skunkiness, but that could be a result of the bottle, you never know what happen to it at the store before i got it.

a nice crisp refreshing light body, good feeling carbonation.

goes down very smooth and easy. this is one of my go to pale ales as it is locally produced and easily available. worth a drink if you can get it.

Kind of a bronze-gold color with a good-sized white cloud of a head.

Lots of citrus in the nose, a cross between orange and lemon.

Has a woody, flowery taste to it. Lots of lacing.

Very bitter mouthfeel, not helped by the carbonation; but refreshing nonetheless.

The subtle citrus flavor comes out as the beer warms, but does nothing to soften the bitter.

I wouldn't want to drink this all the time, but is nice in warm weather months.

On-tap at Kelly Cole's

Looks like a nice APA, light amber body with a short white head. Smells a little sweet with nice hops. Taste is a little earthy and grassy, reminds me more of an EPA. Light bodied, but tasty nevertheless. Went nicely with my burger and sweet potatoe fries. I'd have another but there's 69 more taps waiting for me.

A: Poured a bright pumpkin orange with a patchy off white head that quickly dissipated rather quickly without leaving much of an impression or lacing. Visible carbonation was very faint with perhaps only a dozen or so micro bubbles lazily rising at any given moment.

S: bright with fresh oranges and a light lemon floral hopping. More sweet and citrusy then bitter, overall the strength was average as well the rating.

T: The flavor surprised me, opening up with a edginess of pale orange skins and a fresh lemon flower hopping. Slightly bitter overall with a good lingering fade of lemon grass could be found on the finish and fade. Overall had a nice level of bitterness though it lacked complexity.

M: softly carbonated, light bodied with a slick and very smooth texture. The lack of carbonation hurts the crispness here.

D: Overall drinkability was decent, though nothing to write home about. The lack of carbonation does make this go down easy. The hoppiness saves this somewhat but overall is still a mindless downer and one that can be quickly overlooked in a crowded and competitive field.

Got this in the BotM shipment.

Poured into a tulip.

A: Pours a clear burnt orange/copper color with 1 1/2 finger of head. Spotted sheets of lacing.

S: Fairly juicy for an APA. Mango, citrus, and grapefruit hops. A little sweet malt and a hint of alcohol on the back end.

T: Nice bitterness upfront, with some grapefruit and citrus noted in the hop flavor. A fair amount of malt here tones down the bitterness. Also some type of caramel or burnt coffee on the finish that takes away from the hop profile.

M: Medium body and moderate carbonation. Hops are faintly resinous.

D: Above average APA, but nothing too memorable. The smell was the best part of this beer IMO. Could still drink a few of these in a sitting though.

Appearance- The body on this beer is orange /red amber with just a little bit of bubbles. Both the head and lace were thin.

Smell- Great floral bouquet with some citrus tones. It has a mildly malt like aroma as well.

Taste- I felt there was a good use of hops in this beer. It is very floral and some what pine, herbal like. It might be close to being overdone for this style but it still has good flavor.

Mouthfeel- Light but sharp.

Drinkability- I enjoyed it and I would drink it again.

Poured from the bottle into my COAST pint glass. Got this as an extra from dogfishandi. Thanks!

A - Yellow/orange body with a tiny layer of white head resting on top. Clear as day with a ton of bubbles running up the middle

S - A light floral hop flavor with a big malt backbone. A slight euro lager skunky flavor as well.

T - Balanced. Follows the nose to the tee. A slight floral hop flavor and a big pale malt body. I'm also picking up the fkunky flavor I picked up in the aroma but it doesn't really kill the beer.

M - medium to light bodied with a good amount of carbonation

D - Pretty drinkable. I'm not sure what is up with the slightly skunky flavor but it doesn't really ruin the beer. Overall a slightly below average Pale Ale. I'm glad I got to try this but I wouldn't really seek it out.

Color is a nice golden yellow with a mild orange hue and excellent head and lacing. Swell fairly sweet with a good level of hoppy bitterness, pale malts, and malt sweetness. I expected just another pale but was surprised with the citrus hops and sweet malts of this beer. Maybe it was the two nugget nectars I had but it in no way got too bitter. Mouthfeel was good giving me a light to medium bodied drinking experience. Overall I enjoy most beers by these guys but have no access to them since they distribute to NY, but may consider getting another bottle if I get another offer from Halftime beverage.com

Came with the Beer of the Month Club.

Pours clear amber in color with a foamy 1/2 inch off white head that lasted for a minute; decent lacing that left rings.

Smells very hoppy, with floral and piney hops up front on the nose, followed by cirtus, sweet malt, caramel and orange peel.

Very nice aroma, followed by a very nice taste which includes floral hops, piney hops, grapefruit, sweet malt, caramel, light hop spices, light toasted grains and then some more hops which trail with a bitterness. Very tasty beer, that is light, crisp and refreshing. The hops in this beer have a sharp flavor that really smack the palate in a nice way.

The mouthfeel is crisp and on the creamy side with very high carbonation, and the overall feel is light and it almost goes down watery even though the body is light to average in feel.

This brew leaves a little tingle on the tongue and is pretty hoppy for a pale ale. It was very good, refreshing and enjoyable. I recommend trying this beer.

I was much more impressed with their porter than this beer. It was a nice amber color without much carbonation and very little head. The smell had some nice hop smell, but also this fruity smell. As I tasted it I realized what fruit it was. Grapefruit! Not my favorite fruit and it didn't make the beer too much better. Too tart, but there was a nice hoppy aftertaste with the fuggles making themselves known. My friend tells me that this is going to start to be brewed and bottled off site by the first Ellicottville brewmaster. Maybe I will check it out again.

The final of a selection of 4 BOTMC brews, let's give it a whirl. Popping the top yields a mix of citrus hopping and earthy hops like hallertaus. Colour of the pour is a orange bronze, nice multi-sized bubble head with pilow top. Head recedes slowly and laces nicely. Taste of this brew is in line with the smell. Great fresh taste, hops bite up front, again more earthy than citrus however with presence of both. Malt backbone is good leading to a good mouthfeel with carbonation spot on. The brew is mostly balanced but leans a little more towards being hopped up. The hops are intriguing, I'm thinking Goldings or Fuggles, English or European. A very tasty brew. A go to pale.
