Appearance: Arrived at the corner table an obscured, deep, dark amber body with a half inch of off-white froth, though lovely sheets of lace on the way down.

Smell: Sweaty, steeped pale malts and modestly malted grains. Again, perhaps a touch of crystal malt. Hoppy notes abound of uncut citrus fruits, earthy spices, and altogether leafy grasses.

Taste: Pale malts, perhaps some crystal, and with a slight, overall toasty tone to it. Mild candyish sweetness. Light hint of apricot fruit. Earthy, leafy, white grapefruit pith hop tastes with a bold, assertive bitterness. Finishes dry, strongly bitter, and a tad warming.

Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-low carbonation.

Drinkability: An enjoyable bitter, punchy brew to pair with the sounds of the The Two Man Gentlemen Band. Some would say it's a must for all IPA lovers!

The best IPA I have ever had! Pours an opaque golden amber, slightly coppery, with a thick and fine-bubbled head. Rich, strong aroma is like an evergreen tree, promising a seriously hoppy taste. This beer delivers on the promise of its aroma, strongly hoppy so it is like drinking a pine tree. Bitterness is mild, and it has hints of caramel and banana. Smooth texture is rough around the edges so you pay attention to it as it heads downstairs. Aftertaste is pleasantly hoppy. A must for all IPA lovers.

Pours an orange/copper blend, a thick looking DIPA for sure. It has a thick 1" off-white head, leaves solid lacing as it recedes. There is a decent citrus bitterness to aroma, not overwhelming, but still very pronounced. The taste has a serious bitter punch up front, both citrus and pine flavors are present. Bitterness is balanced out by a decent amount of malts. Finishes a bit dry. Little rough, but then again its a DIPA, so not one I could drink too much of it in one sitting.

Pours a copper color that has a nice orange tint when held up to the light. The head is one-finger of white foam that dissipates into a patchy layer of bubbles on top and a medium-sized ring around the glass. Lacing is decent.

Smells very good. Lots of floral and citrus hop aromas with a hint of bitterness.

Tastes similar to how it smells. Sweet malt joined by citrus flavors. The ending has a very solid bitterness and is mildly dry.

Mouthfeel is good. Good thickness and carbonation.

Drinkability is very good. I had no problem polishing off 13 oz. of this, and could easily go for 13 more.

Overall this is one of my favorite brews from Twain's. Definitely make an effort to try this one before it's gone.

A deep rusty red/brown brew with a soapy white head. Nose is hoppy mchopperson. smells pacific coasty. grapefruit.
Taste is heavy sharp hops, slight lemon, and lingering wet hops. Mouthfeel and drinkability as expected. Solid IPA! ABV listed as 7.8%.

Hazy, murky orange pour in a 10oz glass. Smallish off-white head, very fresh bright bubbly.
Big pineapple citric hop aroma...simcoe perhaps?
Sticky nasty hop flavor, good nasty. Pinesap grapefruit hop flavor with enough malt to make this balanced. Malt detected on the backend, very nice. Hugely drinkable for this hop monster.

Arrived an opaque tan/brown. Looked like unfiltered apple cider.
This was aged with cabernet oak barrels, so a pretty heavy oak/wine character was present. Then come the hops. Grapefruit and grass. Malts got hidden under the oak and hops.
Flavors are pretty close to the aromas. Lots of oak with a pleasant, somewhat sour cabernet flavor. After that, the hops really come in. Seemed more grassy in the flavor, but grapefruit was definitely present. Again, malts were pretty well trounced by the oak and hops.
Very smooth mouthfeel. Poured from an engine, so it was almost like a nitro beer. Strong flavors in this beer, but they really didn't linger all that long.
Pretty drinkable. Kind of a specialty beer so I could understand only having one of these. I only had one to let others have a shot at it, but could have had more pretty easily.
Overall, I really liked this. One of Twain's better efforts and I can't wait to try the uncasked version.
