I will go back to the Bayou for the fun swamp athmosphere, for the tasty and well prepared cajun eats (the catfish was excellent), for the nightly music, and for the array of hot sauces to try and buy, but I wont be going back for the beer or for the slow service. Two Brooklyn drafts were the beer highlights...not even a wheat beer during august..., 8 on tap and about 20 mainly space wasters in bottles, the highlight bottle being Rogue's Dead Guy,only a few BA worthy choices, The "monthly beer special" on tap was Sam Adams...A place like this would really benefit by adding a few high class brew to its offerings.Anyway, like I said, go for the food, athmosphere, music, it's still a decent place to check out, especially in Swamp, blues and character deprived Westchester county.

I lived in New Orleans for 10 years. I know the food, culture, etc of Louisiana. This place ain't it. The food is better @ Popeye's. I have tried to like this place, I have been (3) three times. It got worse every time. The beer selection is laughable. They did not have Dixie or Abita. The food is bland. The atmosphere is awful. Nothing La. about it.
I called and asked if they were going to have the Saint's game on TV, they asked who the Saint's were.
Nobody involved with the place is from La., they act more like they are from L.A.

The bayou is an excellent Cajun restaurant / bar. great atmosphere they have an awning over the bar that makes you think your in the deep bayou. they have an eclectic array of shit hanging on the walls from bras over the bar to every kind of hot sauce on the wall with in reach watch out for "Dave's insanity" .
on the weekend they have live music nothing special a lot of blues and zydeco.the food is great Cajun delights like crawfish and po'boys, alligator and the best gumbo Iv ever ate even after living in Louisiana for 3 years. they get a nice crowed on the weekends.the bar is a little small, but they make up for it with nice selection of beers:
on tap they have Brooklyn lager, Brooklyn brown, petes wicked. abita purple haze, rolling rock, pilsner urquell. in
bottle they have: red stripe, Mississippi mud, rouges dead guy ale, Dixie blacken voodoo, and a few more I cant
remember. defiantly good beer good people great food. It's not a beer bar its a restaurant with a good beer selection. A must try kind of place. they also make a killer "hurricane"!!
