The selection of beer is OK, but when there is a microbrewery practically across the street (The Tap) it's hard to compete in the beer arena.
This is a place you go for the Irish atmosphere. There is typically live music on weekends. And the rest of the time, there is typically Irish music playing on the sound system.
Low cielings, tables a bit close together, little nooks in the odd shaped floor layout - make for a cozy environment.
Most of the food is good, but the fish & chips (a house specialty) are especially tasty. I highly recommend it. Also the homemade ketchup and tarter sauce are a nice touch.
It's a great place to grab a Guiness and relax.
When friends come to town, I typically take them to "the daughter" first and then head over to the Tap.

When I have asked people in Haverhill where are places with a good beer selection, they have almost always mentioned The Peddler's Daughter. It is a comfortable, "Irish-style" pub with a decent beer selection. It is not going to wow any serious BAs with its current beer selection, but if you are in the area and feel like a pint, it is not a bad choice. They have 12 taps and 12 bottled beers. On tap: Boddington's, Harp, Old Speckled Hen, Belhaven, Widmer, Guinness, Bass, Sam Adams seasonal (Oktoberfest), Killian's, Carlsberg, Magner's Cider, and Peddler's Daughter Brew (the bartender did not know who makes this).
The atmosphere is pretty cozy and warm. You walk down about 6 stairs outside to get to the entrance, and then 2 once inside. The bar is directly in front of you as you enter. The bar is L-shaped. The bar, floor, and ceiling are hardwood, and the walls are brick. There are some booths and small tables. There are windows in the back. Not a large place (maybe 2000-2500 sq. feet?).
They have live music on some nights. The service is good and prompt. It can be a bit smokey, but not as bad as some of the other bars in the area. They have last call at 1:30 am on Fridays (2 am closing).
I have not yet tried any food there.
