We’ve been busy experimenting with many of our favorite hop varieties recently, ultimately working toward a new IPA recipe. The combination of both classic and newer experimental hops from the United States and Australia paired with crisp Pilsner malt and subtle, chewy Wheat varieties has produced a wonderfully complex white IPA that exhibits plenty of intense bitterness and a broad spectrum of hop flavors running the gamut of sweet and fruity to piney and herbaceous while remaining gentle on the palate. The addition of Wheat in the malt bill provides Scratch #141 with its characteristic haze and ample, frothy head.

Served on-tap at the brewery.
A - Pours clear golden yellow with a nice one finger tall white head, quickly dissipating down to a very light film, leaving sticky webs of lace on the sides of the glass.
S - Smells of citric fruit, fresh cut grass, pine resin, bready wheat, lightly toasted grain. Got more pungent as it warmed up to room temperature.
T - Starts off with a mix of chewy wheat and grassy hop bitterness slowly being joined by the pine, cut grass and the rest of the grains. Finish is mostly hops and light fruit, some chewy wheat lingers long after the finish.
M - Medium body with moderate to low carbonation. Smooth, chewy feel with plenty of fruit and hop bitterness.
O - Usually not the biggest fan of hoppy wheat's as they can really clash against each other but this one is decent enough. If this is in fact the next seasonal it should be a nice addition to the lineup.
