Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours the darkest shade of opaque brown, with about an inch of tan head that slowly fades to a thin film. Lacing clings from the top of the pour to the bottom of the glass.
S: Smell is mostly roasted malts with a tiny dash of sweetness. No discernible hop aroma.
T: Full but slightly restrained roasty character at the front, with notes of coffee. A mildly bitter hop finish that sustains and supplements the malt profile. While solid, the flavor profile lacks a certain roundness present in other porters.
M: The beer is appropriately chewy, with moderate to low carbonation. Seems about where it should be.
D: This is a solid porter, and I could certainly drink several. The flavors are full but do not fatigue the palate, so there is no harm in having multiple servings.
