Poured a 12oz bottle into glass forming a very short-lived head, pale straw yellow color, hazy with visible carbonation. The smell is CLOVES, I couldn't detect any hops aroma in this at all. It smells and tastes like the clove gum my grandparents always had. The mouthfeel is quite full with a (surprise!!) clove finish with a slight lemon hops taste and in the finish. Even though it reminds me of a Christmas ham I find myself liking this beer. It's got something to it that's quite refreshing, can't wait to try it with food, bet ham'd be a great choice!!! Pours a pale golden color with a huge fluffy snow white head that recedes quickly to a thin film on the top. Lace covers the sides of the glass. Smell is of green bananas. Taste is bready and biscuity with a mild fruit finish. Tangerines maybe. Feels crisp and refreshing on the palate. Drinkable on a hot day.
Not my favorite style, but I would drink again.

My second review of a Troegs beer, and I must say I am not that impressed. I think the taste is definitely lacking, it seems almost watered down to me. Looks like a typical wheat beer, has the light and fluffy, lemon flavor, but the flavor is a little too light for me, even for this type of beer, I have had more flavor in the beer.
It has a slightly bitter bite to it for a second, but really not mcuh else to say about it.

It is an average beer, not something I would seek out though.

A: Very bright golden, lively brew with an exceptionally thin, white sheet of foam atop..

S: bready-biscuit...light summer grass.. hint of banana and clove... a nice, soft nose that brings a smile to one's face...in all honesty, somewhat light reminders of a baby aventinus...light reminders..

T: bit of that bready-yeast, and light clove and banana...not as present as I'd hoped for.. somewhat wateryier on the taste than I had thought, but decent.

M: Soft, crisp and fresh.

O: I'm generally not a big wheat fan, but this was a good summer time sample...

A-Hazy honey with a moderate head that retains fairly well. Light lacing.

S-Sweet with plentiful amounts of Hefe yeast. Citrus peel and other fruits. Clearly some spice too.

T-I personally think this beer tastes like liquid Bazooka bubblegum. It truly tastes just like pink gum. Must be the yeast. Aside from the gum is a lingering spice finish. A bit doughy in terms of the malt.

M-Not the lightest feel I have come across in the specific style. I wouldn't call this watery. Lighter carbonation. Bubbles are there but they aren't potent. A bit slick.

O/D-Too much bubblegum flavor. Not my favorite beer and I could definitely see this becoming undesirable after the second or third. Not a huge fan.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. 07/19/08.

Pours a bright straw yellow color with about one finger of puffy off-white head. Aromas of banana and citrus, especially lemon.

Taste is more banana, spice and clove, and citrus (lemon and tangerine). A bit on the sweet side, but not cloying. Feel is way too carbonated for a wheat. Drinkability is decent, a bit low from the feel and sweetness.

Overall not that great. There are a lot of better wheat beers out there.

A: Pours a hazy light golden color with a very small head and bits of lacing.

S: Mild aroma of fresh grain, spice and a bit of citrus.

T: has a fresh grain flavor with a tangy bite and a trace of lemon. Finish is quite dry with bit of a sticky sweet aftertaste.

F: Fairly medium body, a bit crisp and refreshing.

O: Nice beer but not one of my facorite styles, tad too sweet and sticky.

The Hefeweizens I enjoy pack themselves with a corainder, orange, and wheat flavor that is filled with an unfiltered body.

This lacked both, but still did a decent job. Lacked depth for me in flavor and fell off the tongue too quickly, but was still very drinkable.

I would suggest the German alternatives to this.

Pours a hazy straw orange color with a weak, watery white head. No visible lacing and the head fades to nothing 2/3 of the way through the beer.

Smells very spicy, mostly coriander with a little lemon zest. Even a slight ginger aroma. Smells like a Hefe and not a Wheat PA.

Taste is spicey as well, almost overpoweringly. Coriander dominates my tongue, with hints of orange and banana. This could use more malt sweetness to balance the spicyness. Very little bitterness and hop presence.

Nice medium to full bodied beer, carbonation is on the low side.

Overall, a good summer beer to quench your thirst after a hot day. It's a little too spicey for my liking but still enjoyable. Not Troegs' best offering. Cheers!

It's a servicable wheat beer, but nothing to write home about. It has a fruity flavor characteristic of like hefes but the flavor doesn't last past the initial swallow.

Appearance: dark golden color

Smell: Hints of fruit, slight smoke; not very robust

Taste: Slight banana, nothing really sticks out

Mouthfeel: Light, smooth

Drinkability: Drinkable; average wheat beer

Poured into a hefeweizen glass. Initially looked like a glass of champagne, similar colors and head. Head clung to sides, and had a constant stream of bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma was yeasty and white bready with a small touch of honey sweet. Taste was a slight bit bitter, with some green olive flavoring, but no real outstanding tastes, good or bad. Felt good in the mouth. Maybe a little thin, but seemed suitable. Not a bad beer to drink during the summer heat, but not the most refreshing, and definitely a sipper.

There was a small amount of sediment left in the bottom of the bottle.

A - Clouded golden yellow with a nice, one finger white head

S - Fruity and spicy, light banana in the nose and clove

T&M - Wow, what a clove assault on the pallet! There is a peppery presence with some subtle fruit. Feels refreshing and medium bodied

D - Very easy to throw back, for me, the clove character is a bit strong; not unpleasant, I actually kind of like it, but it would prevent me from drinking more then one or two in a session.

a bottle from the anthology mixed case, poured into a standard pint glass.

Appearnace was hazy and yellow, much carbonation, and a head that didn't last long. Carbonation persisted, some lacing

smell was pleasant, wheaty, yeasty kind of thing going

taste was a little better than expected, quite full and "wheaty".

Not a style I'm overly fond of, but a good offering from a very good brewery.

Ap. Cloudy gold with minimum head.
Sm. A tiny bit of sweetness, but mostly sharp lemony zest and spice.
Ta. Mildly spicy upfront and tart. Some sourness in there I think.
Mf. Mild carbonation and not quite thin.
Dr. Very drinkable, but don't care for it enough to have another.

Tröegs Dreamweaver is a hazy pale golden ale with a thin white head that dissipates. It has a slightly sweet, clovey aroma with notes of banana and raisin. In the mouth, it's light and lively with a crisp finish. It has a spicy flavor with notes of clove and lemon. A spicy bitterness brings in the finish. It's light, refreshing and easy drinking. It's interesting that BeerAdvocate calls this an "American Pale Wheat". I'd call it a Hefeweizen.

Pours a clowdy yellow with a bit of orange hue to it. Initially has a minimal creamy white head with not much retension. Nose is yeasty with orange up front, banana cross the middle and paired with the scent of cloves. The feel of this beer is quite light and refreshing, easily can put a few of these back. Taste yields much the same as the nose of this beer except less citrus and more yeast and wheat than anything. The finish suprisingly has very minor hop taste mixed in with the yeast but without any of the hop bitterness.

A - A cloudy dark orange-yellow, it reminds me of a screwdriver that is very vodka heavy, about 4:1. The head is about one finger high and lasts for about two minutes. Only specks of lacing.

S - Lemon predominantly, a bit of banana, pineapple, cloves, allspice and bread. An okay odor, but the citrus is a really strong presence.

T - A mild lemon hits me first, followed by some wheat flavor, actually tastes more like millet though, and a mild spiciness of cloves, coriander and . . . nutmeg? I didn't expect that. The aftertaste is slightly tart with a lingering spiciness and bland bitter (which I find to be the most disappointing aspect). The taste isn't that great, but it is far from terrible. Way too much citrus. I'd say a little below average for a weizen.

M - Carbonation is a little high, but it is fairly creamy and fullbodied with a nice refreshing nature.

D - Easy to drink. Very easy. Very mild and very low abv makes this infinitely sessionable. A good compliment for food. I am not impressed by the flavor, but everywhere else this is a pretty great brew.

Pours a cloudy orange-yellow with almost no head.

It smells of wheat, yeast, and indistinct citrus. The flavor is very pale. A bit of wheat and a lot of bubblegum. It's a little thin in the mouth, but not too carbonated.

Definitely an easy-drinking brew, but not at the top of my list.

Appearance: Poured from a 12 oz into a 'perfect pint' has a pale golden color with quite a high turbidity. No noticeable sediment and not even a head really not even lacing.

Smell: Lots of yeast as well as a big whiff of citrus and clove off the bat. There are some bready malts lingering and has a strong sweet banana background and even some tart apple to boot. Really balanced and nothing overly pungent but it is a nice combo. Smells much like a hefeweiss opposed to an american pale wheat.

Taste: Quite a hearty wheat flavor with touches of mild citruses, hints of lemongrass, some spicy cloves and even some nice sweet and ripe bananas to tie it all together. There is a light malt character that turns to a quite bready yeast aftertaste. The taste is really watered down but with a bit more wheat I think this would be on par for its style and being such a light brew.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied beer that is merely glides across your tongue like seltzer water and leaves behind a coating in its finish, at the back of your throat.

Drinkability: If you want a light brew that does compromise some robust-ness in its flavor and really stays true to its 'pale' name then this will be a definite session-able brew for you.

Overall: Not overall impressed from the getgo, it didn't have anything that really jumped out of the glass and begged me to have another. Tröegs really is capable of better in my opinion but I guess given the category it ranks pretty highly just not in my overall palate rating.

A - Pours a bright orange-gold with a thinner white head.

S - Bread and malt aromas are apparent along with more subtle notes of clove.

T - Flavors stay true to the aromas but included a taste resembling olives as well. I'm not sure if this was a batch defect but the taste was peculiar.

M - Body is low to moderate with moderate to high carbonation and ends quite dry.

An overall good beer with a high drinkability. Taste and aroma seem comparatively more noticeable than other pale wheats.

Thanks to Matt for this one.

A: Pours a hazed golden yellow color with a big white head on it.

S: First thing I pick up on the nose is the banana and clove. A bit of wheat bread and some moderate sweetness. Unfortunately, there is that lemony tartness of the "pale wheat beer" style.

T: Starts off with sweet wheat and bready malt flavors. The clove and banana follow and then toward the back end comes the tart lemon flavor.

M: Light to medium in body with a moderate carbonation.

O: Sort of a combination of a crappy pale wheat ale and a hefeweizen, so while it wasn't bad, this wasn't my favorite.

Ba Review #36
Served On: 8/17/2011
Glassware: Wheat Glass

From the Anthology 2 mixed pack.

Look: Poured a cloudy yellow with super fast carbonation bubbles jetting to the top. Head was a tiny ½ finger of white fizz that dissolved quickly.

Smell: Sweet malts with clove and faint mango. Smelled very refreshing.

Taste: The clove took a back seat on this one (no complaints here). Banana and mango was first along with the crazy carbonation. The body of this beer was rather sticky for being so light in color and ABV. It’s a really nice alternative to Blue Moon or Keith’s White. I actually paired it with my wife's famous honey mustard chicken and a dill pickle spear. It was great.

Very hazey straw color, with no head but ample carbonation.
Husky, wheaty in the nose. Sweet, hints of clove and banannas.
Taste is nice. Once again dominated by wheat malts and yeast. Very "yeasty" on the palate, but in a good way.
Funny, I always think this style taste very Belgianesque.
