A- Thin white head on a cloudy yellow body.
S- Wheat, citrusy, yeast, light caramel malt, bananas, light esters.
T- Bananas, light citrus and grass hops, light bitterness, wheats, light caramel malts, pretty big cloves, and some light spices.
M- Light to medium body with medium carbonation.
D- This it is pretty good. It is easy to drink but I don't know if it is anything to go crazy over. There are some brews out there a lot better for this style.

Bought a sixer in Laurel, MD.

A- Pours a hazy straw colored, with a thick snow-white head.

S- Smells of clove and banana, with a hint of citrus.

T- Tastes of spicy clove and banana, with a little lemon in the background. Not too sweet, just about right.

M- Carbonated well, not too fizzy, just about right for the style.

D- Good for a hot summer day.

I find this not quite as good as the Penn Weizen, by Penn Brewery, but it is pretty good for the style. American breweries haven't caught up with the Germans on this style, except maybe Penn.

Dream Weaver pours a hazy light yellow with a clean white head that leaves a dense lace on the walls of the glass. The aroma consists of spice, wheat, and fruit (notably citrus). The flavor starts with wheat malt, transfers into banana, and ends with the spicy citrus that dominates the aroma. More esters than I would have expected from an American Wheat, but the surprise was welcome. The mouthfeel is light and smooth with enough carbonation to make this beer quite crisp and refreshing.

Overall, it has enough flavor to take it above average, but not so much as to overwhelm. It is very drinkable - several of these could go down without any problem. A case of this would greatly enhance the enjoyment of warm summer days.

This is not my favorite style, and this is not my favorite example of the style, however its a solid example of the group. The color is a golden straw with a simple white head. It has that wheat beer taste, with something i cant put my finger on, maybe yeast that im not too fond of. I think its a decent beer that should be tried especiallly if you like wheat beer.

I am reviewing a cellar temp bottle poured into a pint glass. The bottle is courtesy of fish113d.
The brew pours a clear gold champagne color until the dredges start to come out and haze up the beer a bit. I pour only a pinch of the dredges into the glass, making for a slightly cloudy brew.
A small bleached white surface layer floats effortlessly on the beer, leaving tight lattice during each sip I take. Aroma is very heavy with cloves and some citrus notes as well.
First sip reveals a light and thin body with with very fine and fizzy carbonation. The beer is crisp and refreshing.
Flavor is mild and I get some lemon zest, cloves and the beer finishes with a tart acidic drying that makes me thirsty for more. Very nice brew that I would enjoy heartily on a hot summer day. Wish I could get Troegs in CT!

Poured this one with all of the yeast into a tumbler. Typical look for style, straw colored and cloudy with a decent 1-finger whitish head.
Smelled earthy and slightly spicy. No fruit smell like a hefeweizen, just yeast. First taste was very yeasty and bitter with some clovey sspiciness in the background. Mouthfeel was on the creamy side aand fairly smooth. Drinkability was OK for me as I prefer a few oothers of this style ahead of this one. Still a solid brew when a wheat is in order.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into my Samuel Adams pint glass. Appears a mildly cloudy golden straw yellow color with a finger of soft, white foam. Smells of fruity banana and spicy, peppery yeast. Tastes of sweet banana, clove, pepper, and apple. Very smooth in the mouth with medium carbonation. Absolutely delicious. Recommended.

Poured a 12 ounce bottle into a glass mug. This brew did not disappoint as I continue to discover strong wheat ales. Yieled a nice, amber, foggy body with almost no head and fast retention but that did not stop it from revealing itself later on. The smell was magnificent; nice, fruity smell with hints of banana esters that was very pleasant. The taste was great as well. Again, the banana esters were present and, like the good wehat ales i've had in the past, it left me not only satisfied but refreshed and calmed. A very nice mouthfeel to it; not too thick and pretty smooth going down. A very pleasant, very drinkable, and very refreshing beer. May be a good way to assist in cleansing your palette of some hardcore hoppy beers in preparation for tasting another one (however, water is ALWAYS recommended to help cleanse the palette). Very fun beer and highly recommended.

200th review did the Mad Elf for 100. served into my tall Blue Moon wheat glass from a 12oz. brown long neck bottle with crimped-on cap.

Very spicy aroma, fruity, clove aromas,a slight hint of bannana, some yeast. Very clean and pleasing.

A complex spicyness and fruityness.Peppery, clove, yeasty,a hint of cinnamon, with some slight tartness. Very spicy finish, would guess this is the same yeast as used in the Mad Elf?

Light mouthfeel.creamy with some cloyingness. Great taste, a sessionable wheat beer. Could drink this all day long on a hot summer day. It's nice to have a good wheat beer in the middle of winter sometimes.

Poured into Hefeweizen glass, swirled and added lees. Clear for a wheat beer, small white head.
Smells of fresh yeast, and white grape juice, a little strange fruitiness that I associate with a Hitachino Red Rice Ale.
Fruity apple onset with hints of fig and some white grape, a little cinnamon. Medium dry wheat flavoring fades out. Quaint yeast presence. Very lively in the mouth, flavor keeps me exited and wanting more. No overpowering floral flavors I get in some American Wheat’s.
Probably the best American Wheat I have had to date. Not something that would stand up to a good Hefeweizen, but a bit more refreshing and an interesting take on a wheat beer.

I got the Troges mixed case at the Beer Yard in Wayne, Pa. I poured it into a flared pint glass.
Appearance: It poured a nice cloudy gold color. The head was subpar in that my straight pour produced about a half of a finger of head with little lacing, and a fast retention.
Smell: The smell was very solid. I got hints of apple, and hints of banana.
Taste: The taste was a little bland, but very very well blended.
Mouthfeel: Suprisingly this produced a smooth sense that produced a pleasurbale experience.
Drinkability: This has a high drinkability.
Don't drink and review.

Sampled from the tap, poured intoa "large pint glass", as described by the restaurant...more of an oversized pilsner glass.

A - Pours a cloudy straw color..when the waitress brought it, the head had receded into a foamy, white ring around the glass. Mild carbonation.

S - Spices flow into the air on a wheaty-banana backdrop. Not overpowering, but still discernable.

T - Cloves come rushing out of the gates, and are followed closely by a banana/lemon combination. There's enough spice in this beer that it is not only delicious on a hot summer day, but on a cold winter night, as well. A very good representation of an American wheat, just seems to have a little more spice, which is very nice!

M - Wonderful creamy body that finishes strong with crisp carbonation lingering the entire way down. Bananas and cloves on the aftertaste...very strong finish.

D - Very enjoyable selection from Troegs...this is the first time I've had it from the tap, and it is a strong beer both ways. Very drinkable on a hot summer day or as a winter dinner accompaniment.

Cloudy yellow with a small white head.Nice carbonation and no lacing.

Yeast and sweet smells emerge from the glass.Mabey pepper.

Sweet,yeast and some slight bitterness.

The carbonation isnt that bad, it sorda attacks your tongue.

This stuff aint bad. This is the first time I left the yeast out of the glass and it taste way better then with it in.I think the yeast used to give me headaches in the past so we will see whats up.I dont know if ide buy again but a solid brew.

Poured a hazy medium straw hue with a three finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured a heavy malted wheat aroma with a perfumy yeast and clove.

The taste consisted of a bready wheat malt and a spicy yeast body. Good light wheat finish.

The mouthfeel was of average chewiness for the style with a dry finish.

Overall a very nice wheat ale. Very sessionable and certainly one of the best examples of the style.

Thanks a bunch to Aprilluvsbeer.

Got this brew in a Troegs variety 12 Pack, a nice intro to Troegs wide world. All my Troegs thus far have been great and I look forward to more.

Appearance - Wonderful cloudy color with a perfect white head.

Smell - Has a great citrus, corriander smell. Exactly what you'd want from a Wheat Beer.

Taste - Very subtle fruit flavor with nice undertone of corriander and a touch of hops. Very nice after-taste. Flavor was very nice but not outstanding.

Mouthfeel - Nice level of carbonation though it may have been a touch watery.

Drinkability - A credit to the Wheat beer catagorey. Very easy to drink and a great presentation. Might not be the best, but very enjoyable.

12oz. bottle poured a hazy golden color with very little head or lacing. Smells of sweet fruit and bananas. Taste of grains and bananas reminded me of a lightly sweetened bowl of cereal. Mouth feel was light with a creaminess to it. I liked this beer its light and refreshing but more of a spring/summer time brew . I keep this in mind for the warmer months.

Poured into my Mug from a bottle from the troegs sampler pack. Beer poured a nice straw color with minimal head. Cloudy, as a wheat beer should be.

Smells very nice and fruity, grapefruit like smells are what come to mind with me. Banana and Spice smells are here too.

Tastes good! Has a nice malty flavor, which quickly leads to a wheat after taste. Very nice.

Very light on the mouth, so light it makes you want to have another!

VERY drinkable, very sessionable as well. Low ABV means have another!

Served in 18oz. pint glass at Red Lobster in Hbg.PA

A: Beautiful, clouded golden color with nice, fluffy two finger head. Great retention and lacing throughout.

S: Clove spice, citrus, slight banana. A feast of complexity for the nose.

T: Same as smell, very complex. A great representation of the style. Very flavorful.

M: Thin and silky smooth, with a mildly zesty kick. Perfect carbonation.

D: Very sessionable if you like the style. The strong flavor does turn some of to it.

Another great Troegs product. Very flavorful beer with little ABV. Perfect late summer/fall beverage. Nice spice flavor to intro the fall weather.

The pour into my Weihenstephan Weisse glass raises a lofty three inch eggshell head, which leaves very sudsy and sticky lacing. The beer's body is hazy golden. Head retention is quite nice, too. The smell is Very clovey/banana-bready, which I just love. A clean, spicy scent. The taste is just loaded with straight banana bread flavor. Quite biscuity and sweet, with a lingering banana-bitterness. The mouthfeel is a bit light, although I may have poured too hard, releasing too much carbonation. Still, I know I want more, and I'll edit if my perception changes in future tastings. Overall, this is a killer wheat beer that tastes like a bakery.

Served in an Erdinger weissbier glass at just over fridge temperature. No freshness date on this one.

Appearance- Pours a hazy burnished gold with cloudy, ephemeral sediment floating within the beer. The white two finger head reduces to a thin mat, and spotty drapes of lacing linger behind.

Smell- Loads of husky wheat, with some fruity notes (banana, papaya) happening as well. Very fresh aroma, minus the traditional wheat beer suggestions of clove and bubblegum.

Taste- A sour, mildly phenolic start turns grainy, peppery, and yeasty... showcasing again the wheat malt under the spotlight.

Mouthfeel/Drinkability- Good carbonation just smooth enough to session. It lacks grace and sophistication, and therefore suffers in these last two categories... but overall it's solid and worth trying, especially if you're not familiar with the style.

12 oz bottle pours a hazy, pale yellow, body topped by a small white head. Poor retention and only some sporadic patch lacing.

Very aromatic and complex to the nose. Lots of citrus, with lemon zest, orange peel, and some banana esters. Coriander and a hint of clove and pepper add to the olfactory delight. Wheat cracker and yeast notes are also present.

Light bodied in the mouth with an appropriately zesty carbonation.

Coriander and orangepeel lead the taste, mixing with a toasty and grainy wheat character. Hints of earthy yeast, clove, and green banana get tossed about by the playful carbonation. Finishes clean and zesty.

A stellar example of a usually bland style. Nothing drab about this one! Many thanks to mntlover for renewing my acquaintance with one of my favorite breweries.

Poured into a Troegs pint glass; appearance is a thin consistency - a soft and hazy copper hue. Head is minimal, dissolving into a thin sticky caulking of foam that hugged the side of the glass throughout the session. Nose detects a heavy smack of banana with swirly punches of lemon, yeast, and cloves. Flavorwise, reminds me of a very zesty and refreshing hefe. Feels light on the tongue but still plenty of body with moderate bite and slight bitterness. The key to the enjoyability for me, personally, is that, for an APA, it is not overly hopped so it makes for a nice smooth summer brew. I've spent many a day this summer sessioning this, including it on tap at the SPTR at their wheat beer fest.

12oz single, an extra from mtnlove...better drink this before it starts snowing...currently mid 70's in madison

appearance: pours into a hefe glass...cloudy dull golden-orange body, 1/4" foamy white cap that retains itself well. nice looking wheat

smell: big wheat fresh wheat aromas...lemon zest, orange peel, other citrus, yeasty sweetness, strongly spiced

taste: It's been about a month since i had an american wheat but this is certainly the day to return to one as temperatures are back in late august form...a nice pale wheat, crisp and fresh wheat zing, zesty lemon and orange, citrus sweetness, light banana, well spiced

mouthfeel: medium-light, average carbonation

drinkability: good

Looks good, thick golden. Aroma is as expected, more or less citrisy yeast. Taste is in line with the style, nothing remarkable but solid enough. Motuhfeel is nice, very crisp. Good feel for warm weather. Easy to drink, though likely better in the summer. Have not had another wheat beer in some time so not sure how it compares.

I love the look, nice and cloudy. Has a very pleasant smell, a little lemony. It shows sweetness from the first taste, which really reminds me of a Belgian beer. It is a complex taste, with different flavor nuances seeming to come out with each sip. The mouth feel is excellent. To top off the nice experience, the bottle label is a thing of beauty, from the nice artwork on the tree on the label to the unusual lettering of Dream Weaver to the Troeg's logo on the neck. These nice touches all added up to make it a very enjoyable beer.
